1:33:00 I'll be the paragraph guy this time. So what are Broodlings if not smaller Broodlords? You can think of bee genetics as a comparison. (biology teacher rant coming) TLDR: Broodlings are haploid children from the diploid broodlords. They are unfertile and serve a non-reproductive survival function in a mobile Brood colony. Since Zerg units change from forced mutations, then corruptors mutate their genome to form broolords. Okay, so what are broodlings, if not smaller broodlords? Could they become bigger broodlords eventually? Well, no... Since at the start of the life cycle, they were all larva, the larva is the real 'baby' broodlord. And since those units produce units that can't propagate it's form (aka broodlings aren't fertile and have a short lifespan), They can't bee called 'baby Broodlords'. It's like bee eggs that are not fertilzed, become male bees. Broodlords produce 'drones' for protection. Without the chromossome analysis, we can only specutale on real life exemples and comparisons. So in conclusion, Broodlings are the 'soldier-sperm' of Broodlords.

For a biology teacher (?) going into quite some detail, it surprises me that you don't point out that mutations can't ever have an effect on the current generation. In so many movies and games, creatures "mutate" to change their form - but mutations don't work like that. Even if the whole genome is massively altered quickly (within seconds, minutes, hours or days), it would first take effect in the offspring. Now you might say, well, it's a fantasy world and it just works differenctly - but they shouldn't call it mutation then. They often even explicitely talk about DNA-mutation, in which case there is no possible loophole, is there?

@@hemmydall I agree that he hasn't done it over weeks or months and years. But still...his card needs updating. I wouldn't say anything if it was actually a battle. But to sweep Serral 3-0, and than do 5-0 isn't a fluke. So if Clem did that, but Maru had such a hard time fighting Serral, and Maru is 9 9 9, then it's time to update "the Kids" card.

The Clem vs Serral games just show that a high tier Terran at the same skill level as Serral that can take full advantage of the race's strengths can do miracles. Maru is not even in the same realm as Clem at this point.

@@OnigoroshiZero yeah, Maru is probably not as ambitious as Serral or Clem. I had a feeling Maru is satisfied with all the GSL he had won, he hasn't improve for like 2 years now. He still made the same mistakes against roach- ravager, his late game Terran had been solved by Serral ever since his last series win against Serral in 2022. His TvT is not as dominant as before and he still randomly lose to Toss players. You can't win big tournaments like that. That combine with his shoulder injury probably means Maru will just be a decent player, he can win more GSL but hard for him to win an international tournament.

You can see Serral do several things here that he tries to do verbatim with Clem. The work against Maru, but not Clem. Goes to show you what reading and playing your opponent, rather than just playing the game, does for you at this level.

@@vladmatei1958 This was in the main bracket, second decider. The winner got the third spot in semifinals, the loser dropped to elimination bracket.

@@vladmatei1958 I can explain. Maru and Serral both eventually lost in the upper bracket of the group stage. But both won their respective lower bracket and went to the relegation match, in which the last of the final four was determined. This video shows the said relegation match. Here, Maru got kicked out of the tournament, and Serral was the last to enter the final four stage. It is a little confusing but I hope I could help out

yes, but Ghost can snipe the Zerg army 10 times and Zerg would still have money in the bank. But if Zerg can fungal and kill the ghosts 1 time, (2 times if the Terran is rich) then the Terran lose the game. That's kind of the point of Zerg. You have weaker units than the other 2 races but you got more money, faster production. You are a viewer so you can see how much money Serral had, but for Maru, he didn't know. That last big fight of game 4, Maru probably thought Serral was running out of money so he go all in and lost most of his army and ended up losing because of that. If Maru had been more patience, he would have had a better chance.

Yeah, Serral play style is definitely a weakness for Maru's style. Clem has been playing like a god recently. It seems like the secret to beating Serral is to overwork him.

@@thdjjfsfh I think Clem is probably going to be the next Top Terran, if he isn't already. I've been watching Byun as well, but it just seems like he doesn't have it anymore. Everyone knows what he's going to do before the game even really starts, and there's only so much micro you can do when you're being hard countered by every opponent.

Its a playstyle issue. Clem has been higher in terms of threat level to serral for many years now, his aggressive playstyle is a problem for serral. Even years ago when clem was not making it past quarters at the iem, serral said that he and reynor were the biggest threats to him.

@@popkhorne5372 I think it's an army composition issue. How do you lose 80% of the fights and have 20% of the fights end up in a draw at the very best level of the game. Numbers like 30% loss and 70% draw would make somewhat sense - but 80% loss should not be possible in a situation where you play technically correct.

I feel like Maru shoudlve harassed with the banshees and repaired after in game one. he had a lot of time in which he coudlve just wittled down the queens/killed them outright and then the banshees woudlve put serral on a timer and weakened the push significatnly, there were only like 3 queens, thats like 4-5 trips of shoot and repair, not THAT much.
