Jesus, I love herO but god damn I see his off race Terran and I'm immediately reminded of my own. Bad decision making 80% of the time, still comes out on top of most fights for some reason. Or will just completely forget about upgrades, only to start them 6-7 mins in and then lose a crucial fight because of it. I can't explain why but it brings me joy watching him struggle as much as I know I had ^^; Despite that still playing well enough to keep up with Olivera's off race, I have so much respect for the guy. Massive fan, herO!

Name another game from 2010 with this amount of following and support. I can think of League(And select MOBA's), WoW and you could MAYBE say diablo 3, but thats really gone now thanks to 4.

is it true the marine has never been patched? this says something fundamental about the whole game and how it gets patched. if the base unit says something key about each race, toss is clearly the disfavored one. invest the same amount of resources in only the base unit and clearly toss is the less favored one. I keep hearing though that Protoss is the easiest race. I am only a spectator of high level games so this really isn't obvious to me. Is this true in lower levels? or is it just something that people say, i have no idea

They might have changed the timing for stim/combat shield at some point, and there was the recent cost reduction on bio upgrades. If you look at win rates by league (yes, yes, win rates are pushed towards 50% for all players on ladder except the very top and bottom, so things mostly normalize, but because there are 6 non-mirror match ups, you still get some indicators of which ones are better/worse), Protoss is the 'easiest' race around the diamond/masters/lower GM level (it's at its worst in masters), but might actually be the "hardest" race towards the bottom leagues because Zerg notably favored vs Protoss down in bronze/silver/gold. This is probably why Protoss has such high representation in minor tournaments and the highest GM representation right now - if you look at Team Liquid/Aligulac tournament stats, Protoss has been by the most represented race on the "pro" scene for the last 5 years or so (battery overcharge was added late 2019, and there were voidray/carrier buffs around that time + infested Terran were removed from the game; this helped the upper, but not quite top, Protoss performance a lot, it became significantly harder, especially for the non-top level Zerg players, to deal with Protoss air in the later stages of the game) - prior to that, Zerg was in basically the current position of Protoss for the preceding 9 years, except it also won the most premier tournaments.. PvT/TvZ are extremely close to 50% in all leagues, and representation is respectable in all of them, so Terran is basically balanced on ladder. Despite the fairly prominent claim that it is the "hardest" race, that doesn't appear to hold up under scrutiny. Zerg currently seems to be the hardest race in the upper leagues, mainly because of the PvZ match up being notably favored for Protoss in those leagues (Yes, it is the worst match up in both the bottom leagues and the upper leagues, and in opposite directions, which kind of a funny statistic). Despite how awful ZvT looks sometimes with Zerg being often completely unable to crack a fortified Terran without an overwhelming eco advantage, the match up appears statistically quite balanced at basically all levels of play.

Very interesting observation. The thing is, all three races have quite different economies to work with. Terrans have the weakest earlygame eco: SCVs build slower, and you have to take them off mining for every building you make. In their favour, they have the most mobile earlygame units (reapers, hellions, medivacs). In the lategame, it's the exact opposite, due to orbitals and siege units. So comparing 2 marines to 1 zealot isn't quite so simple

the zealot appears weak because it's been repeatedly nerfed. specifically charge used to do respectable impact damage (which is important when stimmed marines evaporate every zealot after they get 1 hit in) also stimpack used to take 140 seconds and 150/150. now it takes 100 and 100/100. marines have actually been indirectly buffed several times

Some of those SCV pulls made a ton of sense to me! But the micro wasn't quite there. Especially the one in site delta at 58:00, if you look at the army supply, that very well could have broken through, while the chances of winning the macro game were very slim

I'm not playing that much to the game anymore but from a purely gamer standpoint, I feel like the balance is affecting more the top 50 players in the world than the hundred thousands of players all around the world. Isn't Protoss the most dominant race on the ladder ? Also the most played ? I do like all 3 races, that's why starcraft has always been a favorite of mine since each race is completely different. I don't doubt that there will be other patches adressing balance issues, and that this game better be attractive for all 3 races.
