Wintersun is one of those "Lockdown finds" on KZbin i made this past year. I love their epic soundscapes wabbering and hammering out the stereo system. If you are looking for some more "Metal around the world" stuff, you got to chek out the hungarian band "Thy Catafalque" with either "Embersólyom" or "Szarvas". Greetings from germany.

Awesome reaction! While Jari is surely a beast vocally, those low growls you hear is Jukka (the bass player), and I love how it brings a new dimension to Jari's voice when he layers them together. Can't wait to see you react to the rest of the album! I was initially disappointed with it, but after listening through the album again with better headphones I was blown away.

Great to see you finally getting to this! I'm most eager to see your reaction to Autumn as it is my favorite from the album and completely different from what they usually do, so be prepared. You know already that Loneliness (Winter) is a masterpiece too. Once finished you should definitely check out the unofficial live of The Way of the Fire. That song, if ever released, will certainly be their magnum opus.

Forest Season finally 😁🤘 Fantastic album, love Awaken From The Dark Slumber, what a song to start the album! It is even more impressive when you think that Jari did this album entirely on his own, wrote it, played every instrument (ok, programmed the drums in the computer, but still mightily impressive to do and come up with all the patterns and arrangements on his own), what a genius 😂 Summer is also great, Autumn is my least favorite, it's so rough, brutal and chaotic, still good anyway, but Loneliness (Winter) is probably one of the best ballads I've ever heard and it's my favorite song on the album, can't wait till you get there 😁

Might I suggest you another 'time metal' band, Atavistia (aka. Canadian Wintersun). Wintersun heavily inspired them and they do sound a LOT alike, in sound and thematics.

Enjoy this album! The last two songs (Autumn and winter) are two of my all time favorite songs. Spring is kinda average Wintersun song and summer is my least favorite Wintersun song, but the last two are so amazing that they alone elevate the album to be my all time favorite.

Great band, have not heard this song before. As you mentioned a lot of black metal influence on this one - which I was not expecting - but is the hallmark of a good band that they can pull off these surprises!

Looking forward to the rest of the album! 🤘🏻 May I suggest you check out "The Way of the Fire" and "Storm" next? There aren't any official recordings available (goddammit Jari!), but some decent fanmade live footage. The pure genius if those songs makes up for the not 100% perfect sound quality.

This is such an interesting album. It has one or two really incredible songs on it, but it's not a full on masterpiece like their previous two albums are. This song might be my least favorite Wintersun song. I think a lot of fans were kinda disappointed with this album when it came out because they've been waiting for Time II for so long. But I enjoyed it for what it is overall.

@@cloudwalk4566 honestly I don't think I have a least favorite Wintersun album. Each is epic in its own way. I really like the continuity of The Forest Seasons; it feels like it's not just a collection of songs, but a full musical journey.
