This is a fascinating little experiment - it’s like listening to the song on “easy mode”. While it does feel like it’s missing a layer, it does make it much easier to discern the structure of the song. It’s a cool alternative!

I honestly don't feel the need to make my own mix, since dozens of people have done that already, and I'm satisfied with listening to the 2dB dynamic versions. Also, the kind of remixes I do are ones that add/subtract elements, rather than just changing the EQ and levels, and I'm yet to have any ideas of things to add/subtract.

I agree, but I think it was an aesthetic decision, because literally does not sound like a real snare, I doubt Jari would release the album with this if it wasn't on purpose

You are clipping the fuck out of the channels and there is a huge amount of distortion (not the good one ;)), if you load the isolated tracks into a daw, you have to turn them all down by 5 - 7 db to not clip the meter.
