Thanks so much for this video. I wouldn't have figured out the wiring without it. There are a few issues with the design of the box as you mention: 1) one mounting screw instead of two. I had to drill a hole in the back to secure it properly, 2) the ground screw is nearly impossible to use especially with 10 gauge wire. I think I would need two small hands and a third large one to wrestle the 10 gauge wire. The thought of shooting the box designer came to mind several times during my struggle with the ground wire. I finally gave up and used my additional mounting screw as the ground.

Just a thought read up on the product before you start a How to Video. I never realized you could run Romex through a conduit, I was told you can have an issue down the road. The WiOn 50054 box has 1/2 " and 3/4” knockouts. The 1/2” is in the 3/4”, so you have your choice.

I used a plug-in WiOn Outdoor outlet for one of my clients to control a 110v fountain pump and it’s working great, set it up on his Android phone (same app as this 50054 outdoor smart box) and had no problems whatsoever connecting to the WiFi right away. I’m wondering if you tried restarting the phone? Or uninstalling and reinstalling the app? I’m considering setting two of these up for another clients spa pump and spa light, this is a very affordable alternative to commercially available WiFi compatible pool and spa controls from the pool equipment manufacturers so I’m hopeful that connectivity won’t be an issue for Android users. I own a pool and spa maintenance and repair business in Southern California and am thinking that this could be a great option for simple “pool only” or “spa only” systems where you’re not controlling multiple pumps, lights, and valve actuators on the same system. Can you independently control a pump and a heater with a single control box?

Didn’t need to put your neutral wire on a relay just the hot wire to break the connection for on and off just like light switch. This is so you could add a pool heater to the other relay. Again making it so it just breaks the hot wire or L as it lists for lighter or hot wire. And the flex could have been ran better looping to the existing hole to the breaker box from original install from breaker to pump. Other than those few things good job bud. I will be installing on my pool pump and heater this summer.

Did you set times on the timer? I have not been able to use the countdown or the programmable timer to work on its own, I always have to turn it on or off in the application.

Is there an option to set up a separate device such as a pool heater? My timer function never needs to be changed therefore the remote functionality isn't all that important. Now say I'm headed home from out of town and want to swim in a warm pool, being able to power on the heater would be great!
