I don't think that will catch on. South China Sea is the internationally recognized name, and the Philippines EEZ does not cover the entire South China Sea. Calling it the West Philippine Sea will alienate Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. that also have overlapping claims in the entire South China Sea. We need all other claimants to form a coalition against China, supported by other interests in the region like the US, Japan, Korea, Australia, and the EU. I would rather call it the South China Sea, if that's what it takes to form a unified front against China.

In fact there's a recent survey (you can search this) that says more in asean are pro-china. Only those in phl, vietnam, singapore are pro-usa.
