I think Putin is just getting started, before deploying the new missiles to hit Ukraine he informed the US and EU officials. A very smart move by him. This will decerelate West's moves intended for Russia's collapse! Putin clearly made a distinction not just about the missiles which already in use within captured territory, or other missiles & drones which Ukraine could fire into Russia on its own capability of using those weapons. However, the red line he drew was on missiles fired into Russia, which Ukraine was not capable of using and required US / UK to program, target and navigate those missiles, and thus this made US & UK not just proxy providers of weapons but actively launching those missiles. This is what makes the difference in Putin declaring that NATO has become direct participants. Had these weapons been fired in a configuration (if even possible) by Ukraine, without requiring the involvement of US or UK in deploying their respective missiles, then Putin would not consider it as escalation, but merely continuation of provocation. Remember the NATO is no interested in Ukraine's impossible victory, but in using Ukraine's foolish leadership to sacrifice their population to weaken Russia by bleeding it with a prolonged conflict. Ironically, it is countries like Germany, starved of cheap Russian gas have seen even companies like VW close 3 plants and the highest ever spike in bankruptcies.. NATO is cutting its own nose to spite its face
