Oh really? When people were trying to elect a president Hizbollah was blocking their tries, it wanted a pro-Iran president by force. Hizbollah politicians went on live television (before the war) and warned that any elected president they don't approve of will "not remain alive for long". Now you want democracy? If US and Saudi interference is what gets rid of Iranian interference, so be it, at least Saudi invests in Lebanon's economy and doesn't give money to militias that ruin our economy.

Aoun was born on 10 January 1964, in the Beirut suburb of Sin el-Fil in the Metn District, the child of Hoda Ibrahim Makhlouta and Khalil Aoun. He completed secondary school at the Collège des Frères Mont La Salle. His family is originally from the town of Al-Aaishiyah, Southern Lebanon. Aoun enrolled at the Lebanese American University to pursue a bachelor's degree in political science and international affairs, which he earned in 2007.
