I’m good with whatever small shop spotlight you want to discuss. I would recommend adding Yellow Dog Designs for trays to your purchase list (Canadian). They are the best I have ever tried. I want to send my condolences again about your Poppy. Thank you for sharing your photos with us. I agree with you regarding Taps, it is a very emotional song. The small shop spotlight sounds like a great idea. I would love to see this with the items you have, then you can give a true review of them as you have used them. Firefly trays are my new favorite currently. I'm sure you will be able to get this kit done soon. I'm sorry to hear that the drills aren't the best though. It does make it hard to work on. Good luck. I would like to see what small shop items you have and anything new you purchase. I love my "Yellow Dog Designs" trays I purchased. I believe they are out of Canada. I do love Firefly trays. My favorite putty is Patsy Putty. She has drops at the end of the month on Friday. She has an Etsy shop.

I just recently purchased a DAC painting, my first. I got Cleo the colorful long haired cat. I had to buy it. My cat is Cleo and she is long haired. Today is her 13th birthday. Now have to find two more diamond paintings for my other two kitties lol.

I gave up on my square dbd kit so I totally understand. I was going to throw it away but it seems like a waste of money. I'm going to try and use my extras from dac to complete it so it will probably end up being a forever project. I ordered mine in feb 2023 thinking the drills were resin but they are acrylic. Not sure if that's part of the problem but definitely not fun to work on! I couldn't even get the drills to line up in any of my trays but it doesn't seem like you were having that issue in this video.

I hope you're able to finish it with your DAC drills! I didn't even think about the drills possibly being acrylic. I'm so bad at telling the difference, but that definitely makes sense to me. I do feel like I have to do extra work to get the drills to line up in the tray.

@@diamondpaintingsbylaura the main way I've been able to tell is that some of the acrylic drills have a small dimple on the back. There are a couple of other things that jaded gem shop shows in a video too but they're not as easy to see just glancing at a bag. Resin is also heavier so maybe that's part of the reason it's harder to get them to line up acrylic?

So, about the DAC perforated cover sheets, I definitely don't like them. The canvases are creased at the horizontal perf lines and I can't get the canvas to lie flat. Their old cover sheets didn't interfere at all, and I loved that they flattened out beautifully from the get-go. Black lines sounds hideous! There is one exception, About 2 years ago I got Starry Night Santa, my first DAC square kit. I fell in love with it, the colors are so gorgeous, but the drills just did not fit the canvas. I put it on DNF. Fast forward, after doing more square kits and getting experienced with them, I ordered another Starry Night Santa from elsewhere, not knowing about unlicensed artwork. That was a waste of time and money. SO, I saw DAC has the Starry Night Santa back in stock, and I grabbed it up! It came today. I was actually glad to see the perforations, they made me sure it's an up-to-date kit. 😊

Totally agree on the covers! I unboxed a kit not that long ago that one of the section in the middle of the canvas was already lifting where the perforated lines were. I loved working on Starry Night Santa, I hope you enjoy it more when you start the new kit!

Firefly "Switch Mini" is my new absolute favorite tray. It is small, and fits my hand perfectly. Check them out!!! Yellow Dog Designs from Canada has a very nice new model that I really like. My new kitties, Dylan and Ochs, have been accepted by my 20 year old Snickers. It took about 4 - 6 weeks, with no real serious sounds coming from either. Happy new expanded family. The bear is adorable, but I have decided that PuffyGator is not my style. Love your videos.
