Wipeout HD: Syncopia Zone 134

This is yet another attempt at Wipeout HD's zone mode. This 134/102 run was made with the AG-Systems ship. This was a very good run even though I lost my racing line in the 90s and had a lapse in concentration around Zone 70. I think hitting Zone 150 is increasingly possible now. I'll get there someday! This session was recorded with the Elgato Game Capture HD recorder. Final score: 425,152

+xoyv *5 months later* I'm pretty sure you could whip up a playlist. You can find the average time it takes to get to say, Phantom class, and from there, you could make the music get more distant and muted every say, minute for example. Of course, this would require some editing to do.

neoqueto Yeah, the jump from Super Zen to Subsonic (Zone 50) is the first noticeably tough boost. But with all things, a bit of practice and you'll soon be making it to Zone 50 without getting hit and then Zone 100 will become the new Zone 50!

I'm bad at these games. I don't know if you have an idea from the perspective of somebody that is used to being slow and comes from turned-based JRPGs.^^ Zone 20 was hard to reach for a long time for me. Then something clicked. and it went well till zone 30, then 40 pretty quick (a few days ?). Zone 50 was a miracle at that time.^^ I was happy to get it only with trigger controls (then learned that they were way easier for high-speed control by practice^^). And only after a week or so I could reach Zone 50 (subsonic) pretty easily. But damn, tho I've not touched the game for years, I remember I couldn't handle it even after a few weeks of semi-regular practice. At subsonic, my brain goes into panic mode and I make mistakes (especially on that part without walls, 2/3 of my health goes into that^^). Never went past Zone 68... I know I can do it if I put too much time into it.^^ But from somebody that's bad at these kinds of games, I can confirm : there are hard steps before Zone 50, but nothing prepares you for that one.^^

It's because the physics of how the ship controls and behaves with the airbrakes changed in either Pure or Pulse. With the older games the airbrakes acted more like a drift and with the newer physics they behave like they're actually "air brakes" if that makes any sense.
