WipEout Omega - Van-Über FX350 gameplay

The Van-Über is back... and I wish it stayed wherever it was.

This thing... when I first saw it I wanted eye bleach. I'll admit it has grown on me, but just enough so that I don't want to crush my eyeballs whenever I see it.
So, it certainly does not look like a Van-Über. I'd accept it if it was from team "Myassisgas", but I won't for as long as it's called a Van-Über. And, unlike the Tigron, there's absolutely no lore surrounding it. Nothing. I don't know who made this thing, but they certainly haven't looked at a true Van-Über.

Anyways, this ship feels like Pure's Van-Über. Very agile, fast, below average shields. No surprises here. I probably won't touch it again. It's a painful reminder of what could have been.
FFS, I was so looking forward to flying a true Van-Über, complete with the front hull bridge, twin engines, and overall good looks... :'(

It certainly looks like a racing craft, kinda like an F1(looking at the rear fin). Something I'm sure VanUber would have based the overall design from. With that said, I do miss the front hull bridge.

I realise I'm way late on replying, but I agree. What they could've done for both the VanUber and the Tigron ships would be to make classic skins instead of fury class crafts. Since both crafts were established in Fusion, I feel like that direction would've make a lot of sense

Fun fact: If you happen to have the art book, there was concept art of this ship, ironically, it was under Tigron's branding before the K-VSR was created.

Vista Really? I have the Artbook, but I haven't seen that. I'm starting up my PS4 right now! EDIT: Holy fuck I've just seen it. I assume it's a placeholder, as some of the concept designs in the page right after they show the K-VSR the Tigron logo on the Van-Über is cut, as if it was put there to see how it'd look.

Looking for more funding essentially drove them deep into the ashes of the Overtel Corporation. Stumbling upon Tigron Enterprises, the puritan AG team was offered a deal that they could not turn away: Van Uber would reluctantly exchange their FX350 prototype IP for more funding. Hence the KSVR and the Van Uber have similar triple-hull designs that seemed uncanny to fans, race officials and administration. To Van Uber’s relief, their style of racing blew almost all suspicion away throughout the rest of the FX350 league, disavowing any ties between Van Uber and Tigron. All until Van Uber closed down and their documents went public.”

I'm in the same boat. Bought a physical edition from the UK for the slipcase and the price was great but no Van Über. My brother wants to give me his DLC code from the North American version but I'm almost certain it won't work with the European edition.

Considering most of the other teams take after their Pure forms - especially since at least half the carried-over Pulse teams just reused the models - I'm left wondering to this day why Van Uber and Tigron didn't get the same treatment. If you showed me these in 2012, I could only imagine them as Pulse concept ships, and in Van Uber's case not a particularly attractive one.

Maybe a Fury model version in a future dlc would be more like " classic " , anyway the design is strange, so Van Uber has been ever quite strange, so there is

darkfaerytales Not at all. To me, it just doesn't look like a Van-Über, and I'd go as far as saying that it doesn't fit in the game. It looks weird. Again, this is my opinion. Do you like it? I'd like to see what you think of it.
