You’re a talented teacher PJ. And it’s very generous of you to share so many cool ideas with the world. Thank you very much. Do you ever 3D print jewelry with plastic filament? If so, what would be your recommended filament type for a more delicate object like this?
@PJChenJewelryDesign3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Although I use filament for other type of 3D printing. I do not have it use for jewelry printing. You can check on www.shapeways.com They have other cool materials to explore.

PJ thanks for all the time you dedicate to us and making these videos! Seeing your intersecting pipe correction reminds me of an issue I deal with a lot. I like to border pieces with a rope edge sometimes that I make using spiral and pipe. I want the pipe to intersect itself some but then it won't allow any boolean operations. I usually just fiddle until there is the tiniest of gaps and it comes out how I basically want after casting, but it's not "right." How can I keep the intersected pipe look? I don't know an effective way to cut out those internal intersections.
@PJChenJewelryDesign2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean you have issue on pipe when you boolean. If that is the case, you can always use gumball to move them as you did, but only move a little like 0.01. check out my SNAIL video. I remember it may be at part 2 where I discuss how to remove the intersection parts. Hope that helps.

@@PJChenJewelryDesign That was an interesting video, but I wasn't able to apply anything to my problem. However, I was reminded of another valuable lesson from you. I tried to make a simple mock-up to demonstrate problem, and it worked fine! I add this edge design at the end and there is just too much going on and the computer can't handle the boolean. There is no design error. I just have to split it up into smaller sections or do it earlier. Thank you so much PJ!

Nice video. Have you any video about making molds in rhino for casting?
@PJChenJewelryDesign3 жыл бұрын
no really. Most of the jewelry process don't do that. but I have seen couple videos for larger plastic casting using that on other channel.

May I ask what 3d printer you recommend business wise?
@PJChenJewelryDesign3 жыл бұрын
It depends on where you located (what vendors you can access), the speed, printing quality and your budget. You can join facebook group for 3-D printing an dcasting for jewelry, there are a lot of professional share their experience.
