IF I didn't live so far away....I would adopt one ! My parents had a dog that was part wire-hair terrier and Airedale and she was soooo smart ! She came to our camp one night when my parents were camping at a County Park....she was filthy, and most of all hungry!. My dad fed her some hot dogs he was cooking over the fire...and she loved him right from the start. We put an ad in the Lost & Found in several papers, thinking that someone "lost" her. She was so smart, that we knew someone spent a lot of time training her. She never was on a leash, she could be told ( by walking her in a square ) that it was her "yard" and she couldn't ( and wouldn't ) leave it. She lived with my family until she was 18 yrs old...( my dad estimated she was about 2 yrs old when she came to us) Raggs died in 1977, & it's seems like yesterday that we lost her....( I am in tears now ) We all loved that dog...and even after we married ( I have 2 sisters) all three of us girls took turns taking Raggs home with us. I have had other dogs over the years, and loved those other dogs for "who" they were.....but there's always that special dog in your life that you loved..... I would really like to have one of your rescues.....but I was surprised to learn that a lot of them don't like cats....I have a 17 month old cat "Mason" who I rescued from a shelter in Ingham County, MI .....IF I could rescue one of your dogs that likes cats, I would....in a heartbeat.
