This video shows perfectly why he is so huge and just a likeable person. Honest, direct, precise and knowledgeable answers, no fuss, no drama. He is the opposite of the "hype" youtubers (like certain ones who find dead people in forests and think its funny) and that makes him so amazing and calming to watch. In the past i didn't like his content as much (but didn't have any problem with him as a person), as it always had a certain "fanboy" vibe, but in the last few years he has really grown up in terms of journalistic values, healthy scepticism and general knowledge and i think that really propelled his content forward.

I remember when I first started watching years and years ago. My dad told me to check out this young kid who did tech reviews that he said he found really impressive especially for how young he is. I guess I love mkbhd videos because they seem to be more logical and sensible, and professional. The storyline is very well established and very clear. Marques seems to be an example of a freak phenomena of the media culture and technology we have at present. While 99.9% of the population gets overwhelmed by the technology and distracted by the incoherence of the tidal wave of short form communication, a few like Marques seem uniquely wired to use the technology and media, understand them better than the vast majority and EXPLAIN them to the rest of us more effectively than anyone else. I hope people like him begin redirecting these unique gifts into addressing some of our more vexing problems.
