I like that walleye guys have been doing this for decades and now bass guys are on it
@Wired2Fish2 жыл бұрын
Well, it's been in bass anglers arsenal for a long time too but it's quite a bit more situational than in the walleye world. Works well for lake trout and pike too!

@wickedbassn Жыл бұрын
I believe a Palomar, but not sure. I wonder if a loop knot would help keep the line more vertical. If its not said in this video, I'm sure there is a video Jeff or Matt Stefan detailing it.

Yummy has a head called the FF sonar. It’s good I use them. They have eagle claw lil nasty hooks on them. I use the white ones in either 1/8 or 3/16 depending on depth. My favorite bait to use is the berkley gulp minnow. The 3 inch one

I catch bass in Missouri during winter using the damiki rig my presentation is like a pendulum I cast it out and let it swing back to boat on a semi slack line
@Wired2Fish2 жыл бұрын
Cool Melissa. That's an excellent and very natural way to present the bait. Away from the boat is an intelligent strategy for covering water or targeting wary fish.

It looks like you have something strapped on your trolling motor to shim it up so you can see your bait in front of the boat better? 🤔

Smeltinator? Who makes that jig head he was referring to? Thanks
@citydogpack2 жыл бұрын
Might be a stupid question here, but I’m a bank fisherman and I want to try vertical presentations such as damiki rig, tight lining, drip shorting etc but there’s no way to be above the bait off the bank. Would it be a good idea to try these techniques using a bobber so that it can stay above the bait? Haven’t tried it yet but I will once we get open water here in NY
@5.7.0bassin22 жыл бұрын
I'm with ya I guss in a sense it would be a float n fly but I've been seeing videos about it and it catches them so once I've put here that's the first thing I'm trying

Usually because it's a lighter (weight) technique
@romaloboda2280 Жыл бұрын
@@NorthernMike And what is the problem with not using BFS, especially since you don't need long casts with Damiki Rig.
@NorthernMike Жыл бұрын
@@romaloboda2280 Overall I don't think that would be a problem. Personally, I feel light hits better while using spinning gear and I'm willing to bet that's what happens sometimes with this bait even though I haven't used it yet.

Did he mention what weight jig heads he typically goes with?
@okay1492 жыл бұрын
One of the jigs was a zman finesse eyes. The 1/8 and 3/16 is a 1/0 hook which to me is the perfect size for the application the 3/8 are larger 3/0 hooks that, in my opinion, are a little long for the jerk shadz.
@dangerfield852 жыл бұрын
@@okay149 that smaller finesse eyez pairs really well with a 3" minnowz too. Not totally impressed with the mould, got a couple with the line tie recessed in the jighead. Lighter as always better, I went with 1/8oz on the 1/0 and 1/4oz on 3/0 for diezel minnowz and goatz
