I use the dremel 8220 almost daily and have been for a year. Sometimes it's literally for 8 hours straight. That thing is a champ and I wouldn't be concerned with the brush wear. In fact, with that model, you ignore brushes and simply replace the whole motor/brush assembly for like $15 bucks. The instant stop feature is super useful for my use of it. I haven't even made it to that point yet. I recommend RZmasks to block dust.

8220 actually has motor protection built in. Their manual states that the quick shutoff shown in your video actually causes no damage thanks to their technology. Thanks for your video.
@powerbatterychannel43154 жыл бұрын
Maybe... but frankly speaking, or, "mechanically speaking")),- it's not good to stop the motor within less than a second. However, it would be necessarily to conduct some experiments with thousands ONs and OFFs with and without sudden stop and after that speak about the results. As to the manual.... I respect Dremel/Bosch company, but...sometimes some companies speak about some excellent part in their products, however, in some months exactly those parts become damaged and move to repair shops. Anyway, I decrease the speed and only after that turn the rotary tool off :)

nope. The disassembly didn't really show much and users don't do that. The sound comparison doesn't come thru well. Just state that they are equal. The nail cutoff test is flawed. Right hand versus left. "More powerful" means speed of rotation may slow with battery unit ? Take human element out of test.

I’d still probably buy a wireless Dremel tool.They have an advantage over wired Dremel tools 🧰, in their own way. Although limited on battery 🔋 life, they work in impractical places for a wired Dremel tool, or when you’re far away from an electrical outlet. Both Dremel tools 🧰 do 30.000 RPM, and have the same included bits. One ☝️ good 😊 thing about bits. They’re interchangeable between wired and wireless Dremel tools 🧰. Again, your friend, Jeff.

I prefer the wired Dremel tool best. This enables you to do ANY job, at ANY length, without needing to recharge the tool in between jobs. Also, upon changing the variable speed of the tool, you don’t have the problem of, “the battery 🔋 is about to run 🏃♀️ out”, resulting in the motor slowing down, regardless of the selected motor speed, and it eventually stopping 🛑. Your friend, Jeff.

8220 or 4300? Which is better?
@powerbatterychannel43155 жыл бұрын
Let's first ask this way: which is better - 4000 or 4300? 4300 has a bit different design, and there are rumors that they have improved the ventilation system; however, I'm very pleased with this system on 4000. As to your question - for me 8220 is better anyway, as there is no need to be "glued" to the mains power. Though 8220 is less powerful than 4000/4300, but it's powerful enough in order to cope with all the tasks of a rotary tool. And its main advantage: it doesn't stop in case of difficult tasks; for example, Dremel 800 stops immediately as soon as you increase the load on the tool. I used to have this tool, and it was annoying to work with it.

I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. kzbin.infoUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.
