I wonder why they can’t make the dongle use both Android and iPhone ? But your old phone recording video isn’t too bad, it’s pretty good. Any issues with charging your phone while using the android auto wireless feature?

Nope charges fine wired and wirelessly. The Mrs can msg and check msgs on my phone while android auto is running. And I'll know if she's using my phone for tick-tock when it starts playing in the background while I'm driving.

Interesting but too expensive for me. I only plug mine in to use maps every so often. I think Android is a better platform too. More choices of phones and certainly less expensive!

You can get various off branded Android dongles for less than half the price online and work just as well. I have the Motorola one in my RAM, very reliable, but no issues with the cheaper branded ones in our Toyota. It's especially useful if you like to use music apps and like the Android Auto or Carplay interface instead of the OEM one. Also love the convenience of just having my phone in my pocket instead of plugging it in every time I get in the vehicle.
