I think the software issue holding back the official release has something to do with getting a BYD official app store which supports Google Apps. A Chinese app store already exists in China, but they don't need/allow Google store there.

Just to make sure: is installing the apps as you show in this video and in the older video that's in the description , is it the same as opening "developer options"? Do you know if installing external apps, either way, does any problem with the BYD insurance policies? I wanna install apps but I'm afraid it'll void my insurance so that if I go to the BYD garage they'll tell me they won't fix the car 'cause I installed external apps... Thank you!

No developer options are opened 😕 this way. You can always uninstall the apps just like you do on your phone, long press the icon then uninstall. Regarding warranty, take for e.g. your rear window switch stops working, what does the Netflix app have to do with that? Food for 🤔 thought.

​@@KiwiDr3ams I agree. If the method you're showing in your video doesn't include opening developer options on the system, then nothing should happen.... The thing is, even if developer options is being enabled, it still won't harm the car in any way... I think these companies exaggerate too much when their customer service representatives tell people to not open developer options.. I think they don't understand what it even means. Any person can add apps on cars just like we do on our phones, so I don't really get the drama about it. Plus, it's pretty silly they didn't include an app store on the car, like we have google store on our phones. This way people could have added apps on the car easily, like Waze for example. So to make 100% sure I understood you correctly- the method you're showing in your video does NOT include opening developer options. Did I understand you right? Also, I've been told BYD is rolling their June 2023 update these days, and it'll include Android Auto on it, so that android users will finally be able to open apps such as maps, Waze, youtube etc throughout their smartphone, like Apple users could till now... Do you think I should wait for this update instead of manually installing external apps as you show? Which way would you have preferred?

* Developer options are not accessed or opened via this method. * June 2023 update v1.5 (a.k.a Android Auto update) has been released in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. It is a staggered roll out, I still don't have it. * Just to be clear, KZbin video cannot be played via Android Auto (wired or wireless). KZbin Music can. * If you want you can wait for the OTA update or use the method in the video.

@@vamsikrishna8765 haven't had a power failure. But if I were to simulate it via switching off the MCB, it simply turns on and starts charging if it is plugged into the car - with glowing green ring light. Else the blue ring light stays on (standby) .

@@TushalBhadang yeah it will go into standby mode. Every time you have a power failure it will go into the standby blue ring. So practically if you want to charge the vehicle overnight and if there is a power failure then your vehicle won't charge by the next morning...

Friend, my wifi connection with android auto is weird. Sometimes it reads the wifi launcher and connects Android Auto with the multimedia. Sometimes not. And then when I click in the wifi icon in the app it says I need wifi launcher, which I already have. With cable functions perfectly. Do you know why?

Change the Wi-Fi frequency on your phone to 2.4 Ghz for hotspot feature from the phone hotspot settings. I think it is called AP Band (access point band). Please report back to let me know if that works.

Turn off the Bluetooth and wifi on your car. Or press and hold the AA icon, see info, then disable it. You can't uninstall it.
