Totally agree with your points. The heat generation in addition to loss of efficiency does not justify the convenience of having a wireless charger magnetically connected to your device instead of a simple plug of a much more efficient and quicker wire. I find it very strange no company is considering a magnetic, pogo-style solution for this issue. Especially now with how Apple is popularizing magnetic peripherals. It would be faster, more efficient, convenient to use and, above all, much more cheaper to produce. So far, I've only seen a single shy attempt from an obscure company called Fobase on kickstarter, which unfortunately got killed in its infancy due to an intellectual property dispute. And this was about a year ago!

Good points....add to that wireless charging is less efficient using about 25% more energy each charge. That plus the direct heat generated adds to climate change.

im pretty sure we are closer to 50% theres also the fact you cannot use the phone on calls while chargeing unless you use the loud speaker, its pretty dumb. i really dont see the point of wireless chargeing phones

Personally, I really like wireless charging. But to be fair, I have never had any issues with heat, and I like that it charges slowly because I use it every night to charge my phone, which means that when I wake up it's gonna be at 100% regardless, so slower charging helps the long term health of the battery.
