I don't understand why people use mains for external lighting? I've been using 12v for years. I feed mains internally to a 12v supply inside the house, so mains powered devices like smart switches can be used. Seems so obviously safer & easier, with no downsides. Interesting programable kinetic receiver.

Why didn't you just put the receiver where the cable comes out of you fused spur? Then you dont have to have to put a weatherproof box in the tree and you wont have a permanently live cable in the garden.

You can as long as it doesn't exceed the amps the receiver can handle
