these would be extremely easy to sabotage. imagine someone just walking by then they see a line of sculk sensors if they walk near, shoot an arrow or even fly past it can send a totally different msg than intended. if you put them under ground then the sound of a unaware strip miner could cycle the wrong msg. if you put them high in the sky as i previously stated if someone glides or rockets past it will be detected. heck a chicken can sabotage it.

Really crazy idea: use a redstone line! Much faster serial transmissions, 1 (redstone) tick per 16 blocks as opposed to 1 (game) tick per block and only 1 (redstone) tick "cool down" for the repeater. Shift registers are pretty helpful for encoding and decoding. You could have the first pulse activate the shift register decoder rather than using an explicit clock signal. You would still want a timer on each end that is activated by the first bit, and then the decoded symbol is used to spit out a renamed paper into a message buffer after the timer ends. If a stray sound/vibration happens to trigger one of the relays accidentally, the shift register will have a null symbol and won't output anything. If you wanted to get overly fancy with it, you could also implement a Hamming code or some other parity check to ensure data was not corrupted in transit.

Hmmm. I could see this system being implemented to monitor doors on a map. You have a map of the base, and whenever a door opens or closes it sends a specified signal to a central hub which then lights or dims the lamp that represents that specific door on the map. Great asset for a security hub.

I’ve made a similar communication grid in my friends realm on bedrock which has 30+ players and communications are very limited. My design uses a lot of paper so I used a sugar cane farm for it. The system sends paper with letters on it in an order that makes the message and you can have up to 5 custom saved presets in your system. The way the paper makes the message is when it reaches the destination it goes in the players chest in order so the player can highlight each piece of paper and figure out the message. Now you’re probably thinking “what if 2 people send a message?” Well when a message is sent it tells the receiving end that there’s a message incoming. The receiving system then archives the message into the system by putting it in a shulker box and then putting the box in storage. When the player reads the message from the shulker box they can place it on a hopper which puts the paper in the sending machine so the paper can easily be reused. This allows for easy messaging. If you have any questions about the system or how it works feel free to let me know.

@flamu91833 жыл бұрын
About 18 million cases in the US so far, and around 325k deaths in the US so far. 325k/18m as a percent is around 1%. There’s about 77 million cases worldwide, and about 2 million deaths worldwide. What is 2 to 77 as a percent? About 2.5%. Besides, who knows if all the tests are truly reliable? Who knows if ALL of these cases and deaths even WERE tested? What if a certain percentage of them were in fact deaths from Influenza, or Pneumonia? Or literally ANY OTHER respiratory disease? I’ve done my research and actually done the math. There’s around 7 BILLION PEOPLE on this little boulder in space. Is 0.003% of the population really that much? I don’t think people should die, but I don’t think businesses should be trampled and people should be separated for months because of a disease about as deadly as the flu, either. If you’re sick, stay inside. Otherwise, do exactly as you were a year ago. Going places, doing things, and buying things from small businesses that have managed to stay alive. Oh, and if you say something about a controversial topic, expect a controversial reply.
@zarnox30713 жыл бұрын
@@flamu9183 Covid isn't a controversial topic. It isn't a political topic. The virus doesn't care what you think of it, it will do what it does regardless. It shouldn't matter if all the deaths are caused by Covid, as people are clearly dying more often since it has spread, and no one should be willing to take that risk. Also, you are using the argument of a million is just a statistic. If you had several people you know get infected, you wouldn't be passing it off as just numbers. Sure, it can be argued that the approach taken isn't great, but when you say that people who are warning people of danger are doing nothing more that creating fear, that's just ridiculous. If I tell you a revolver has 1 bullet in it, you're not going to act like it's not a threat, even though statistically you are likely to survive. You're still going to want to avoid it as best you can, and this is much easier if you actually know about the threat. If people think something isn't a threat, they won't make any effort to avoid it, which for a virus, allows it to spread much easier, therefore becoming and even larger threat. Don't think of bringing economics into this, because as soon as you do, you are placing a number on the value of human life, intentionally or otherwise. You can't pick and choose who should live and who should die. If you are willing to allow others to die when their deaths could be avoided, you have no right to complain if you end up as being just another number. Too many people are contempt with ignoring the suffering of others until they experience it themselves. TL;DR: In any situation in which there is potential danger, it is always beneficial to know as much as possible about said danger. Fear and panic can be avoided by properly educating people on how to stay safe, and is far more preferable than chaos caused by people not knowing why so many people are suddenly dying. Ignorance can be very dangerous, and when people's lives are at stake, you shouldn't pretend that this is normal.
@flamu91833 жыл бұрын
@@zarnox3071 So bringing economics into it puts a value on human life? So let’s say that you own a business. That business is shut down because of COVID-19. No worries, you have the stimulus check to help you get by! But, your states government is spending the funds on organizations and departments that benefit nobody and nobody asked for! Now, you can’t pay your bills so you’re evicted. Now, how likely are you to contract COVID-19? The entire response contradicts itself! “Stay home, but we’re gonna make it so you don’t have a home, and when you don’t have a home we’re going to laugh and berate you!” Did I put a price on human life in anything I just said? Also, I understand people are suffering, but not nearly as many as people make it seem. The left makes it look like the entire world as we know it will end if we ever see our family or spend money somewhere other than the grocery store. Then, they spend money on random shit that has nothing to do with COVID-19, rather than hospitals. They make it seem like they’re making an attempt to help people, when in reality they want control, and nothing else. Oh and another thing, this bug has about the same symptoms as the flu or the cold. What are we doing about the flu? You treat the symptoms until it’s gone. What do you do about the cold? You treat the symptoms until it’s gone. That’s how we should be responding to this. As I said, stay home if you’re sick. That’s how we’ve responded to every other disease, and it’s how we should respond to this one. I actually HAVE contracted COVID-19 in March this year. I understand how it feels to have the disease, and it feels exactly the same as the flu, but it lasts longer. Neither the flu nor COVID-19 have killed me (obviously) and I doubt they ever will. I’m not ignoring anything. I’m looking at the statistics, responses, symptoms, and the people coming up with these responses. I’m also looking at how bad people make the disease seem, and how bad it really is. I know, in my last comment, I only mentioned the statistics, but I am looking at the rest of the information I can find, including my own experience (which I will probably not experience for a long time).
