I have the old Curve, and I heard that the curves are generally not as good as the Bolds, but one of the major issues I have with my phone is that the trackpad doesn't work half the time, and sometimes it scrolls up randomly while I'm in the middle of a text or whatever, which as you can probably imagine is really annoying. Anyways, I know it's still a new product, but I was wondering if you've heard of issues with the trackpad on the 9790. Thanks.

@WirelessInsider Hey there, just double-checking; Part of the problem with the battery life was the software? I'm not a heavy user at all, so I'm expecting this to get through at least one full day, if not two. Is it a reasonable demand now that the software kinks are ironed out?

I currently have a 9700 charger stand that I just sit my Bold on to charge but I notice there is no metal prongs on the 9790, is there still a charging pod you can sit the 9790 on available?

I had a Curve 9360 here i the UK.sold it as i miss a functionality of the touchscreen,startup was 5 hours long (well,actually 5-6 minutes) and battery life was apocalyptic. is the Bold 9790 really better,faster,longer?

After using this 9790 for a few weeks I wish there was a way to turn OFF the touch screen. It tends to always open up stuff when ever you brush or put it to your ears. I realize the key board is so good on these blackberries that a touch screen is actually not needed and tends to get in the way when using the basic features. Also I've yet to find an App or Game that utilizes the touch screen. The OS 7.1 upgrade also improves the 9790 user experience a whole lot. Everything is quicker!

(forget about the wideness, just the smoothness). some people stated that the 9790 keyboard is noticeably stiffer to type on compared to the 9900, whats your take on this?

it depends, if u have larger hands and want a slightly heavier phone then go for the 9900 but if u want one more like a curve then go 9790. 9790 is also cheaper

what do you mean when you say it is not hotspot capable? does that mean that it will not connect to a wifi network if you don't have a data plan (ie: traveling in a foreign country and trying to connect to a wifi network with the data plan disabled)?

Krish refurbished one, they don’t sell new ones anymore. Battery backup is as good as new. I got it from second vendor, it came with 0 scratches and in great condition. The only issue is I’ve not been able to start mobile network on the phone (issue related to cookies) if by any chance you know the answer let me know.

Krish, I just purchased a BB Bold 9650 for $15.00, and am plannin on runnin it off of my iPhone 11 Pro’s hot spot. I miss the days of just havin a cell phone that’s smart instead of havin an mp3 player, a hand held gamin console, a portable mini television, a physical keyboardless computer, a digital camera, a digital cam corder, and lastly a cell phone that’s smart, all in one. I’m keepin my iPhone 11 Pro, but only to run my Bold off of it’s hot spot. other than that, I won’t be usin my iPhone for anything, anymore.
