For me this is still the most attractive,most delicate piece in that part of your collection that I have seen to date. Starting with those perfect curves and effortlessly creating the two lobes of the heart like an enchantress weaving a spell and the wire flows out of your fingertips like magic and then comes the "tangle" and its "OMG she has gone wrong and the wires are everywhere" and then suddenly its all just fine again and everything is perfectly balanced chaos.And I am going to keep looking to see how you manage to combine the art of Japanese flower arranging and metalwork.

Lovely! and it turned out pretty good on the first attempt, though I was confused as to how exactly the weave was done, it turned out different to yours and not as well spaced out. though after watching a second time it was clearer.....thank you!

Excellent! Weaving around curves takes a bit of practice, and it's impossible to give you exact wrap numbers as it depends on each individual curve and how far apart the frame wires are. Buy I'm so happy you like the design and are satisfied with the result!

Wow.I mean WOW!!! Watched your video on fusing scraps of copper and was impressed.Then saw the wire heart and am happy to admit I was gobsmacked.At the risk of being regarded as a grumpy old man,never satisfied with anything,may I make a suggestion.(Please bear in mind I am totally new to actually MAKING jewellery,but have watched about half a zillion videos on it). Would it be possible,and/or,helpful to include a small piece of melted(slumped) glass, red to brown in colour. to some part of the copper piece ? Also I noticed there was no annealing of the copper DURING the making of the wire heart.Was it annealed and not mentioned or was it not necessary.? And would it have been possible to do the heart in fine silver and then work-harden it sufficiently to make it keep its gorgeous shape.? And going back to the copper-scrap piece:how about a little ball of bright silver in there among the nooks and crannies as a focus and a contrast. Y'see.You really got me thinking,and thats about the highest accolade an instructor can receive.{at least that is what I believe}. Well done,many thanks for sharing and please keep them coming.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the videos and that they've got you thinking! I haven't any experience of glass working (I haven't got a kiln - yet!) but I don't see why you couldn't add in some glass to the piece, to either tone in, or even contrast with the copper. I did think about adding beads to the heart, but decided to keep it simple and let people expand on the design if they wish. I didn't anneal the wire whilst making the heart. My wire comes soft so was flexible enough to create the shapes I needed. I don't tend to use fine silver (for my silver work I use sterling) but if you could hammer the basic heart so that it kept its shape, I would expect it would be okay. Certainly that works for the copper, with the weaving adding extra strength. If it was still a bit flexible on completion, polishing should be able to work-harden the piece a little more. If you try it, I'd love to know how you get on. For the fused copper piece - yes, I think some silver would work well in there. I'd probable fuse the copper piece and then solder the silver balls in, unless I was feeling particularly brave, as (a) I don't know exactly what the fused copper will look like when I start, and (b) I expect I'd mess up the relative melting points! I haven't done any videos combining silver and copper yet, but they may now be on the cards - you've got me thinking too!
