Solo, are you still on the road or are you wrenching? I bought a 2009 Columbia last year and am thinking about redoing the whole electrical system. How complicated is that?

Im doing neither rn. Just at the house chilling. That would be quite the job. I'm no expert in wiring so I really can't give you an answer on that. I don't even know how to read wiring diagrams. I know that for my motor I can buy the entire wire harness for under the hood bc the wires sometimes get corroded from heat and moisture. I can do plug and play all day but if the old wiring is missing then that would be very complicated figuring out where all the new wiring goes. What happened to the wiring on your truck?

@aftersolo It's just acting funny. Sometimes my cruise goes out. Sometimes half my dash is dim. My dome lights and cigarette chargers aren't working as of last night. Things of that nature.

@johncalvo1743 I wonder if all that's related. I would start with the fuse box. You probably already have. Cruise could possibly be the switch. That's just a guess though. Wouldn't be a fuse if it's intermittent. Cigarette lighters and dome lights being could be a fuse. The dash lights going dim sometimes I have no idea. You might go to truckers report and see if anybody has had similar problems.

@@aftersolo Yeah, TR is my 1st step whenever I have an issue. I suspect there has to be a master fuse that went. Because several fuses wouldn't all go out at once.

@johncalvo1743 I am seeing on some posts that the cigarette lighter and dome light going out seems to be related. Here was one of the threads I read. www.freightrelocators.com/threads/2003-freightliner-columbia-no-power-outlets-no-interior-lights-please-help.68384/
