This is an excellent tutorial, but if you are in the USA there are some slight differences. American (and Canadian) 240v consists of two 120v hot, a common, and a ground. For submersible well power, you use the two hot for L1 and L2, and ground to what the well motor is grounded on. The wiring for the well is different too. Black is "run", red is "start", and yellow is the return (instead of the common, here). So, the changes on the contactor are minimal, just switch the wire color, use a 2 pole MCD (like a Delexi DC47s), and wire the control to the L2 (yellow) circuit instead of the L1 (black). Also, use of the overload is recommended even IF you are using an MCD, as the MCD protects you from a short circuit on the power side, but the overload protects you on the motor side. If you wire this as shown in the US or Canada, and use the second hot for the common, it will work at first, but it will blow your start capacitor after a few uses.

In single phase motor which has a capacitor start option in that motor you can't connect float switch, if you want than you have to use a timer to turn on the starting capacitor for few seconds
