Hiya! I've got the EC155 fitted to my campervan and I'm needing to replace my old lead acid leisure battery, as it's dead. I know that the charger inside the EC155 will only charge lead acid, not AGM or Lithium, but I'm wanting to go with a lithium battery! The question is, how do I connect a lithium battery charger into the EC155? Any ideas or advice more than welcome please 😊

Note: This unit CANNOT charge AGM leisure batteries. The charge is too low and will damage the battery. I was told this by Sargent support.

Could a Victron multiplus inverter/charger be connected to this, if so how would it be done so when off-grid the 3-pin sockets in my motorhome could be run off my inverter?

Awesome stuff..that seems like it can get a little frustrating dealing with the power..are you happy so far with what it takes to hook up the solar?

Hey Frank, it's been very hard getting my head around it. Only afterword did I realise my video is really here there and everywhere.

Hey mate , I bought this unit thinking it was a simple plug and play.. I realised as soon as it turned up that it was going to be a challenge. Your vid will help me massively. Just a quick question... 230v output 2 (blue/white/white) I don’t seem to have this cable in the kit sent to me is it required? Thanks
@wjlacey4 жыл бұрын
Blue and white from 230v? Dont remember that one. I had black, white, yellow 230 wires. The orange to outside. I cut away most of my 12v wires tbh. If you run into any problems let me know.
@stevenwilliams48624 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I called them up and they said it was for extra 240v outlets and can be added but not necessary.. not sure how I feel about the port in the bottom of the unit being open though.. do you have a spare block connector open on the bottom of your unit once you had Finished? Also just tagged all the loom up as you suggested in the vid 👍 the only one i don’t know is the black and white.. 😬 it’s bundled in the loom with the starter battery fridge power and fridge outlet.. not sure if you connected that element so that the car battery charges the leisure battery when the engines on hey..? Wish me luck! 🤦🏻♂️ Thanks heaps Steve

Hi, just curious as to why you also bought a B2B charger when I believe the Sargent unit has a built in B2B charger. Thanks
@wjlacey4 жыл бұрын
Well I have solar and a b2b. The b2b is really fast.. I've heard that the Sargent is crap. Main reason is that it switches off the unit when engine is turned on

Hi mate what’s the two red and white wires for please?
@adrianhatton87933 жыл бұрын
Hi , did you bypass the relay that turns everything off when the engine is running?
@wjlacey3 жыл бұрын
I didn't bother with that. I've not got it so that it trickle charges like that. I wired it solely to the leisure batteries and then used a Stirling b2b charger to charge the batteries up.

Thanks mate ! I’m only down the road in chesterfield if you fancy a trip down hahah

Can you use the 230v side of this Sargent unit off grid? Or does it need to be connected to mains power?
@wjlacey4 жыл бұрын
It only works on that side via hookup. To have 230v off grid you need an inverter and a ton of power. Hope that helps
@mangozz73972 жыл бұрын
Any idea how to bypass the system so it doesn't shut the system down when the engine starts? Thx

dont wire it to the vans battery would be my guess.

hi mate can you tell me if you had to buy a relay for your sargent and if so what size thanks john
@wjlacey3 жыл бұрын
No I didn't. I opted to charge my van via b2b. Sterling 30a instead. Fast as hell and don't spend enough time plugged into campsite to make the Sargent worth it in that respect.

thanks mate , by the way that scramble up elbow ridge had me biting my nails

I have the bigger model. Did everything myself in the end so didn't use it (B2B charge of AGM was the issue). I have it in my loft. Put it up for sale at 200 pounds (over 600 new). No one interested. Looks like it's going to the recycling.

Hi do you run a wire from van battery to leisure battery? As my leisure battery doesn’t charge when driving Thanks
