Wirtual this is not the fault of your internet, it's the fault of the game. The game has a beautifully deterministic simulation engine, there is no valid reason why network lag should have ANY effect on split or finish times AT ALL. This is 100% on Nadeo.

I entirely agree- it's not like cheating isn't easily discoverable on Trackmania anymore. There's entirely no reason to not simply use the local times and send them to the server, instead of relying on packets.

@@Appri They don't even have to go that far. Even just not having such a short timeout, or having decent retry system. They can still run the simulation on the server if they want, just have more lenient package timings. At this rate the game would be entirely unplayable on 3G or in developing markets.

​​​@@ReaperUnreali had a 3-6mbps before having optic fiber, the game was barely playable. Now with 600mbps on wifi, i still have lags out of nowhere. Wireless or not. No matter what i put in the network settings in tm it still there. I play mostly royal and i get late start, delayed respawn, bonus time ends before real time... also on 2 different internet provider

Ikewolf was also one of the absolute best speedrunners on the Ori series of games. That's where I originally knew him from, but then he shows up to Trackmania and he's extremely skilled at that too. It's very impressive.

This always astounded me when I was in Germany, like they couldn't hear the difference between saying "video" and "wideo", don't they have both distinct sounds in their language?
