Everybody in the airgun world wants to go to one of the big competitions. The Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge - RMAC - in Utah, Extreme BenchRest - EBR - in Arizona or the Pyramyd Air Cup in Ohio...but the cost.
It's not just the entry fees but the travel and lodging and meals. Registration can be a chore too. You can do all the planning and not get a spot!?! RMAC filled up in about a half hour. EBR was full just as fast. There's no way "everyone" can go to these events, even if there wasn't a high cost associated with them.
Don't get me wrong. If you want to go, you should go! Even if you aren't shooting it's a great experience.
So what's an airgunner to do? My advice is to host events locally. The rules are out there. airgunsporting... All you need is a 100 yard range, some benches, a good spotting scope and, of course, some shooters.
About three times a year, from mid-summer to early fall, Jeff at Trenier Airguns, formerly Trenier Outdoors, hosts a 100 yard benchrest competition. For more details or to contact Jeff, here is the shop's website.

Jeff carries a variety of airguns, optics, accessories, pellets, slugs...you name it. Check it out.
This video is about the August 2022 competition and DonnyFL team shooters John and PJ (me) heading over to Sparta to compete. While the field was not huge, there were good shooters and we had lots of fun!
I used two different air rifles in the video. One was my FX Impact MK II in .30 cal. It has a tensioned barrel and the Saber Tactical TRS. It's quieted by a DonnyFL Ronin and topped with an Element Optics Titan 5-25 scope. For stability I'm using the AccuTac FC4-G2 bipod and a Saber Tactical Monopod. The other rifle is a Wildcat BT MKIII Compact in .177. This one has a DonnyFL FatBoy 2.0 and an Element Optics Helix 4-16, and I'm shooting the 10.3 JSB KnockOuts out to 100 yards with pretty good accuracy. More on this in the video.
Basically this video exists to promote local competitions and show a couple of guys here in Wisconsin having a good time. I hope you enjoy it!
I almost forgot. I said I'd put links to the Hawke Spotting Scope I'm using and the Two Vet's Tripod. Here are those links.
