Some of my best childhood memories are summer days spent, playing under the magical curtains of a large weeping willow! It's weeping branches touched the ground and was our secret hideaway!

I must confess, as a city dweller for all of my of my life (except for the last 4/5 years) I never took an interest in plant or wild life before. I thoughts enjoyed your extensive knowledge of the weeping willow. Thank you.

So good to see you back making new videos, we've missed you and your family. We have a beautiful weeping willow in the middle of our garden, hubby has put me a hanging seat under her now, i am looking forward to spending many spring and summer days in her gentle embrace ❤

We're still making videos but have been experimenting with modern mini videos. We much prefer making these longer ones! We love spending time with the kids under the willow 😁

They work at propagating plants. Cut up a small willow branch into small pieces and soak overnight in water. Use it to dip seedlings or plant starts.

Two years ago, I made a tincture from the twigs. I have also soaked twigs for one week & used willow water that has been diluted to rain water to add nutrition to my plants in the garden! Last year, I made a cold-process soap using the dried leaves! 💕💚

I was just thinking about you and your wife the other day. The stinging nettles are coming up now and last year I made the loaf of nettle bread that you did a video about, it turned out great! It was green and just tasted great! I love willows. Just yesterday I worked on planting lots of cuttings from willow we planted two years ago. I'm hoping they shoot up so we can have lots of whips and maybe let some grow thicker for fire kindling or fire wood. I was thinking when you described why it may have been called the Weeping Willow, that maybe as the rain runs down it's branches it looked like it was weeping? Now that I thought of that, I wish I had a weeping willow so I could see if it does that! Maybe you could see? Lovely channel, keep sharing with us all.

Loved this. Took me right back to my childhood, much better days. We were always told never to plant a willow tree near to buildings because the root system travels and destroys foundations. Willow is one of my favourites. Thankyou for this reminder

Are there any trees that look like it in the uk? are there any poisonous varities in the Uk? I believe i've come across one but it doesn't have the large narrow leaves on small leaves, but the twigs are a golden colour and the catkins look the same. So maybe it's just a dying Willow in a graveyard

It is the same thing. It is in head and shoulders and foot creams as well it helps soften and dissolve the hard skin on feet and kills things like warts on feet too. On your head it softens dandruff and helps kill germs on your scalp as well as lowering inflamation.
