Hi, it would be nice if you could run through how to set up an e36/46 for grip, explain suspension travel and how toe and camber work with a soft shock

E36/46 has very little camber gain , very good antisquat and side / forward bite. Best thing to do is tire / shock grip and make sure you run a lock kit that doesn't slow the car down as much, stay away from the kits do that lean on roadcar ackermann / geometry. Keep the front axle fast with correct Ackermann, slightly toe in the rear, run a good set of drift specific shocks and its an almost unbeatable car.

@@DriftJesus thanks, unfortunately I can’t use semi slicks at my level of competition. I’m using. BC br series coilovers with 4kg spring rate just turned up 5 clicks from the softest setting, with 0.75 degree of positive camber & 0.25 of toe in, maybe is too much? I have 420 bhp at the crank

I think people underestimate how difficult it can be to drive something overly gripped up ( for the power level of whatever they drive). My first experience with something like this was at a go kart track I used to work. It was an indoor track, so it had grip but you could still easily slide the karts, which gave more freedom to drive how you wanted. We would oil and grip the track up for our endurance races and I freaking hated it. It was just way to much grip. Sure, lap times were quicker. But driving was not fun.

Which arm does it manipulate? I suspect it is the upper front arm? And how does it not bind up? I can only image that if you are going to change the toe/camber gain it is going to fight other arms (like the rear IMO redundant toe arm). This video leaves me with more questions than answers 😂. But I like it great video.

Thanks a lot. It was very educational video. Cause I was wondering does it really worth to spend money for this kit to make mine e92 faster. I was going to try and explore first with wisefab Ackerman offset and the better suspension kit. Now I figured that i was right, and have to pay attention more to suspension👍🏼

I hope to see an in-depth video on the mods even though It sounds like I will never need it mostly because I don't drift but would like drift at some point. Just a guess James Deane has this part in his euro fighter?
