@@weho_brian oh its much worse. I used to know loads of "normal" people easily getting normal jobs and buying normal homes. Now everyone is applying to 500 jobs to get one that barely covers rent, the only people buying homes are dual income high income earners, often with parental support. It's insane and a different world. Also rent between bad and good places has equalized, I guess due to software landlords use. So no more "start apartments"

Bonds are a safer bet. They offer good stable yields. But dividend stocks could make you a fortune if you know how to go about it. But it's always a good idea to work with a CFA. It streamline your strategy and help profit a lot.

I've been through the 'bonds are beating stocks' periods since the 90s with no bonds and with all aggressive stock mutual funds. At 66, my IRA and cash accounts are far more than I expected for my retirement. I can easily handle a worst-case 80% stock crash, Thanks to my CFA.

I don't understand why the FOMC doesn't meet more often and make changes to the Fed Funds rate in smaller increments (10 basis points)? This would have a lesser impact on the markets.

It sent the markets all over but Main Street only felt higher prices and slow wage growth. Bottomline. Too much free money for too too long.

We’re already in a recession. Look at history. They never formally admit until about 18 months into one until their metrics confirm it. Unemployment is being propped up by a huge number of newly government added jobs. The leading indicators have been off the charts saying so. They’re just delaying the inevitable. You can’t avoid economic downturns, just delay them with all the cash they’ve thrown at it.

The Fed hates CPI inflation, but the Fed loves asset inflation even more than it hates consumer prices rising. The Fed realizes they are increasing the gap between the have's and have not's, but they know they only keep their gig if the have's keep getting richer. It seems almost impossible to contemplate today, but Jerome Powell's legacy will make Arthur Burns look like Paul Volcker.

You do not need to be an economist at this point to know that cutting rates now will quicken the rise of inflation. Look at energy (gas/oil) and other commodity prices right now. They are at lows, bottomed out along with inflation that is nowhere near 2%. It's actually 3.4%, double-almost. Unemployment is about to skyrocket just like 2008. Bond yields will rise. Printing money will only make things worse!

I see the rising interest rate as a very big problem, as more investors will definitely pull out more money from the Stock market. This might have worked when I was still invest-ing with a couple thousand dollars, but it is more difficult now to decide whether to pull out more than $365k from my port-folio. I know some inves-tors still make that despite the strong bear market. In wish I could pull that feat.
