@@leviforman4141 They definitely aren't super decisive, but scores this late in the season show a lot still, regardless of cross-judging. This time in July last year and the year before that it was obvious that BD was gonna win.

@@Jayce0000 That's still not true. Last year with scv gone all of BD's scores were inflated until they met up with the other top corps cause they had no competition. It's just not possible to compare. Also people are using more recent shows to compete against less recent shows

I'll say it again: this is very obviously the best-designed show right now. Thrilling, fascinating, and fully cohesive, with a peak in the ballad so high that no other corps will escape its shadow. Absolutely splendid blending of the visual with the music there, with all the visual elements in perfect balance for great aesthetic effect. Performing the hell out of it right now, too. Way to go!

I totally agree. In addition the timing accuracy between sections that are separated by 30 or more yards is amazing. This was something they did so well last year.

I've been watching DCI for a very long time, since its inception, in fact. The Blue Coats are my favorite Corp, both in music and in visuals. Since 2014, They have set DCI on fire, being in the medals more years than not. This year looks to be no exception. Break a leg, Blue Coats.

I'm with @nicksipich1024....early-ish season, east vs. west judging going on here. I was at Ft. Collins for the BD show last Sat night. Great energy from BD. Brass blew it out of the stadium. Scores just don't compare yet. BD drumline even with Crown? Bluecoats brass that far ahead? C'mon folks. Having said that - I LOVE THIS BLUECOATS SHOW! They've been second more times than I can remember save Phantom back in the day. May just be Bluecoats year, which wouldn't suck. I'm a total Blue Devils fan but the "Tilt" year the 'coats got robbed. I'd love to see them win one.

Breathtaking battery moments, glorious guard moments, auxiliary killing it, brass showing who has BOSS sound, just seem this show will reach perfection as much as it can! GE is top notch. I don’t like to compare shows to other corps’ show but this show compared to itself from previous Bloo shows, seems to work less is more, and originality with great songs and audio accompaniment. This is more than a really good entertaining Bloo show but one that evokes emotion. It is not same ole; same ole like other shows. This is new, different, innovative, and should be rewarded accordingly.

I really believe this year is Bluecoats' to lose. Boston could sneak in there, though. I don't know about BD, they're still awfully dirty compared to Bloo and BAC. I wouldn't underestimate BD though, and I really also like their show as well so this year it's a win/win for me. If Bluecoats win it, my favorite show won. If BD wins it, a show I really like won. If BAC wins it, a show I like for the most part won.

So you're just ignoring all the not-quarter notes happening between the quarter notes you are apparently so mad about? Such as the almost wall-to-wall 1/8 note triplets at 172bpm while on the move, for most of the opener? Btw the echoey repeated Bb chord is their motif from Change is Everything by Son Lux. They are pretty up front about what pieces of music they're using in the show and you can go listen to them. If you watch the show more than 2 minutes they display tons of musical lexicon and move between lots of different styles of music that is all quite difficult. Simultaneous responsibilities, wide field timing collaboration, polyrhthyms, there's a lot going on for the performers. Nothing wrong with a couple quarter notes sprinkled in there as a way to ground the show in simple musical motifs

Triplets at 172 for most of the opener? Lol most of the opener is Foreplay by Boston. Everything you listed is basically what makes marching band..marching band haha. Wide field timing collaboration? Polyrhythms? Simultaneous responsibilities? Those are literally done in every drum core show like ever..? There is always a lot for the performers to do. None of that takes away from the decision to start and end a piece with quarter notes, and then your entire show. It’s boring and easy plain and simple. I don’t know a highschool band that couldn’t have that clean in a day or two.

If artists see their music being used without permission, they are less likely to work and approve their music for orgs to use. The activity is hanging on by a thread as is. Adding additional pressures to DCI and it's members are only going to make it more difficult in the future. Please be respectful of copyright laws. After 3-peating silver, Bloo will finally win this year. And it’s long overdue. BAC will get 2nd. For the first time since 2006 BD won’t be in the top 2. BD should be 4th this year, if the judges judge honestly.

Not true. Scores don't matter much right now. I heard BD twice live this season. Their live performance is mind blowing. They sound shockingly amazingl, and they have just as good a chance of winning first as the rest, if not more so.
