Mates, I know that I'm guilty of taking more than I needed for a trip, but I'm wondering how often you all have had a happy bloke/mate that was pleased with your over-preparedness? Or, vice versus! You crazy Aussies and your adventures! Here in the U.S. we generally don't have a mate with a helicopter to fly out parts, 🤔 but we do have a fair dinkum of Interstate Highways/Freeways with some type of civilization reasonably nearby. That being said, I'd absolutely love to do a ridiculous full circuit of your amazing country/ continent!

I'll give my bit of advice, riverbeds change regularly, faster than you think. It's hard to go the same way twice and its hard to know until it's too late and your a mile off track. Luckily I've memorized a few landmarks in previous perilous driving but I had to put my truck through things no sane man ever should (this was in the foothills of a mountain, in a riverbed about 8ft deep 2.5m+)

Biosecurity is a huge concern these days with the spread of noxious weeds etc. Do you guys do anything with weed and seed inspections when going from site to site to prevent contaminating and spreading these problems?

Upgrade your cooling system. Without it you won't reach home without your engine. Most vehicles overheat in sand, mud, inclines or pulling a trailer. Recovery of another vehicle, or towing it for repairs will also overheat it. Have solid recovery points fitted, before going off road.

Boys, I'd say any Rubicon packaged Jeep! Especially one fitted with a Cummins turbo diesel engine swap. Ridiculous tourque and fuel mileage! Check out Motortrends "Dirt Every Day" KZbin channel about that.

The most important lesson I have learned is don’t buy a vehicle from Gray’s Online Auctions. I bought an absolute lemon that you guys at 4WD 24/7 recommended in one of your episodes. It’s still costing me money and not really ready to go more than a day trip off road.
