So shocked to find out this very talented and handsome young man passed away so suddenly and tragically. Makes you wonder why God allows this to happen . My son lost his beautiful wife 4 years ago quite suddenly while she was pregnant with their second child. She too was 31 years old and a wonderful nurse. She left behind a two year old daughter and a loving husband . We all miss her as I am sure everyone misses this beautiful man. May God bless his soul and may his memory comfort the family.

I don’t dance. I never did. But I immensely appreciate the dancers talent, and the beauty it creates from a song. Two beautiful arts paired together. The world can always use more. I didn’t know Jason. But I think I do. Thank you sir. RIP.

They were great I'm so glad you made that comment. I watched The honky tonk dance over and over again. No fancy outfits needed and I think of dancing with the Stars it's all fake. I mean compared to Katie and Jason it's it's not as synchronized because of their feelings for each other! Katie and Jason were great friends for 7 years and they adore each other they were not married or lovers but the sparkle in each other's eyes they they had a mutual love of dancing in each other and it shows and dancing with the Stars can eat their heart out by comparison!

I tear up every time I see him dance, he was my cousin's only child, I don't know how she copes. Too me he is one of the best male dancers I've seen as he exudes masculinity in much the way the late great Gene Kelly did, he makes it look easy as he effortlessly moves so flawless. RIP dear cousin Jason

Kati, I have to say This is the video I've been hoping to find someday ... Clear video & really enjoyable dance! You two SLAYED it!! Don't know why I didn't find it long ago, but I've watched the grainy videos over and over! Hopefully life is good for you, & your memory strong. I lost a great friend myself (in his case the big "C" got him). At some point (like yourself it appears) I realized my buddy's life and memory is contained in the brains of those who knew him... so (like yourself) I keep a stash of video, photos & written down memories (the internet didn't exist when we were younger .. so I have actual letters etc we wrote while attending different colleges etc ). Every year on his Bday I distribute something his family & other friends like me will enjoy). I'll run out someday soon, but not yet! Take Care Kind Katie

I'd liken Jason to Patrick Swayze. Jason Colacino is one of the best male dancers I've ever seen. He had incredible rhythm; chained movements together with impeccable flow; performed turns and extensions with exceptional, technical precision and reflected musical punctuations with choreographic perfection on the fly (improvisationally) as well as in routines. Although he passed way too young, he was fortunate in that he was so talented he could successfully make dance a profession and as important had an equally fabulous dance partner, his wife, with whom he obviously shared his love, skill and talent for dance. I’ve only seen him in You Tube videos. His artistry and legacy lives on in his videos, and I’m sure in the hearts and minds of those he touched... his family, friends, colleagues and students.
