She is the best singer/vocalist I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. I am 68 yrs. old and was raised by a mother who loved and appreciated Opera, the Big Band Era, Blues and Jazz, Ella, The Duke, Louis Armstrong, down to the Beatles and of course The Carpenters. So I had exposure to a lot of outstanding female vocalists. Morissette sings many different styles of song but with each one she wraps them with her heart and offers them as gifts to us. I have never heard or listened to a singer who can access my emotions as quickly and as thoroughly as she does. My heart opens and responds to whatever she sings. So if this makes me biased, so be it. I will willing change my mind if someone EVER does better. It is not that I can't enjoy other singers and some come close as far as accessing my emotions, but they do not attach to my heart as quickly or as deeply as Morissette does.

My God! She clinched it! Hanep sa vocal placements! That's such a difficult song to sing! Maybe because of the high key? But as usual, Morissette is a master of very difficult songs. I'm waiting to hear new, original songs written just for her to record -- songs as great as those by Jessie J, etc....even a song as good as "Secret Love Song" -- which sounded even much better when she sang it live on the Wish bus. "Akin Ka Na Lang" on the bus was awesome as well even if she recorded that years ago! It just goes to show HOW SLOW, FEW & SCARCE are those great, melodic, original Filipino songs these days --- like those songs during the better years of OPM in the 70s & 80s-- full of meaningful lyrics and great melodies with build-ups that are unpredictable, but can really pierce the heart. Even the musical arrangements were fantastic! To digress, I just hate acoustic guitar accompaniment only, unless the guitarist can really play well like a classical guitarist where you can almost hear every note; not just plain rhythm guitar with monotonous, predictable chords. So boring! Anyway, those great OPM songs by the masters: George Canseco, Willy Cruz, Cecile Azarcon, Nonong Pedero, Butch Monserat, Louie Ocampo, Danny Tan, Gerry Paraiso, Odette Quesada, Ryan Cayabyab & so many more. What happened to them?! Morissette needs more creative original material! Can't wait for Grammy winner, album producer, Rhett Lawrence, to do those songs for her. Hope THAT happens this year!
