I think the end might work because the Djinn didn't understand the wish. He didn't know who that was or that it was relevant. He seems to grant wishes involuntarily if he can't figure out how to subvert them on the spot. As established in the "I want you to leave" scene.
@lalelol8956 Жыл бұрын
Continuity and budget was missing at the end. That wish wouldn't have done anything and he would have been able to rule and conquer the planet...as her 3rd wish had been granted...more like 10th wish. He would have just made another person drunk operating the crane, or had the accident happen on another day. The accident and him being released would have happened no matter what. I love the wish master movies though...well the first 2..

I really liked the way Supernatural portrayed djinns. Rather than actually granting wishes, they poison their victims and leave them in a hallucinatory coma while they feed on their blood. It was an interesting twist on the typical lore.

This is one of those movie villains that is their own foil. If he had just granted people's wishes normally, or just approached Alex directly bypassing all the secondary wishers, he could have just gotten three wishes out of her and the movie would be over. what i think would have worked better for the story, is that he NEEDS the people who make wishes to die, so that he can immediately claim their soul to empower himself, etc. that way it makes a lot more sense for him to actively attempt to screw people over with their wish. you could still have done the same plot as before but without all those convoluted plot elements revolving around the gem and needing three wishes

According to the legend, the Jinn were made from fire, have magical powers, and were given freewill, i.e. they can be good, evil or neutral. Because of the connection to fire, it was believed they were meant to be Demons. Because of the connection to magic, it was believed they are "wishfulfillers", but also tricksters. Modern day, chances of a Jinn/Djinn/Genie being evil is 1:2.

Wonder how long it took Wes to realize he had a legit all-star horror cast at his disposal, and has cast ties to A Nightmare on Elm Street, Hills Have Eyes, Scream, Friday the 13th & Phantasm, that’s to Wes Craven, Robert England, Kane Hodder and Reggie. Such a good movie, but it’s a shame with all that horror power it isn’t quite as Remembered, and it did too well to be considered a “cult film” but did too well to be a box office mainstream hit, and as a result, it’s stuck in purgatory.
