Thank you. That should be a hint to a certain chasers who act like out of control 5-year olds trying to overdramatize the event and draw attention to themselves, versus the event.

The fact that they were formed from two separate mesocyclones with the same thunderstorm a few miles apart is amazing, it's not unusual to see a tornado with a satellite tornado under the same wall cloud/mesocyclone but this is truly unique

Timothy, thanks for posting this fantastic videography of a rather intimidating weather phenomenon! In addition to the lack of screaming, yelling, & `potty mouth`, I really appreciated how you stuck to one focal length/zoom level during the entire scene. This makes it easier for the viewer to have that ``being there`` experience, and not be distracted by constant zooming in and out, in and out, and panning left to right to left etc etc. The lack of distractions allowed me to notice other details in the frame, and get a real sense of the groundspeed & violent rotation in the beast! As for the meteorology, your video did a fantastic job of capturing some impressive and long-lived horizontal vortices, which are almost always a sure sign of a very violent tornado capable of doing EF-4 or EF-5 level damage. I also noticed a rather persistent funnel between the two tornadoes, along with obvious rapid upward motion in the more distant monster (which also caused EF-4 level damage). A QUESTION: What gear did you use? The steadiness during your panning to track the tornado made me wonder if you used a DSLR and an image-stabilized lens with a panning function for the stabilization...

The roar, then the first tornado moving along to show a second and equal tornado (even saying that is insane!), the calm and quiet you allow? Stunning and mind boggling; one of the best!! Thank you!!

You did a fantastic job on filming these tornadoes. You focused on the bottom. I like that, I like to see what it is doing. When storm chasers film they watch the top of the twister. On small devices, people have trouble seeing the movement and what ever else they are filming. I hope your house and you were ok. Great job.

Excellent video! Just an incredible piece of nature to sit back and watch. I'm wondering, as I'm sure many are, what became of the second tornado? Did it follow the exact same path as the first one?
@samuelstephens69047 жыл бұрын
Matthew Vaden The second tornado in the background was the one that struck Pilger directly. It outlived the tornado in the foreground, eventually turning into a satellite tornado and merging with the Wakefield EF4.

That was such a great video of "THE TWIN TORNADOES", great angle too. I love that turbine sound. I turned on my fan to my left side on full so I could really capture the moment. I heard you Tim " holy F", that was when that RFD from the big one was hitting you. I would have said the same thing, what else could anyone say, it looks like the end of the world.

Wicked twister's! I can't believe, they both missed, the little white trailer in this video. After the first one missed it by a hair, I was convinced, that the second one would take it out, but it appears to miss it, too. Thank Heaven's! If it had, it would've been demolished, and all those inside it, would've been killed. Totally terrifying video, though! Keep up the great work, and stay safe doing it!
