Witch Creek Fire - October 2007: Heather Myers in Poway area of San Diego

On October 22, 2007, News 8's Heather Myers reported live from the Bridlewood area of Poway with coverage of the Witch Creek Fire. The fire had been raging for over a day in San Diego County and Heather was in a place near and dear to her as she grew up in the area. She described how the wind would die down for a bit only to kick up again fanning the flames that were growing as our cameras rolled.

I was a part of the inmate fire crew that battled this fire. Pretty much burned everything. Some places only chimneys were left standing.

But that was well days after the witch fire located near the border of mexico. Not way up near Carlsbad.

Did you know what was in this event I had to get to it it was lucky because we lived in the mountains in the mountains to the fire so it's good but I didn't know if I was rugs house was right there that's cool I still live there where the fire was my house is really

Poway was way up in Carlsbad and that was not the witch fire it was called by a different name that started soon after the one near San yaidro mexico prison.
