4:28 starseed is actually an ableist term used to describe ND people it’s like- the spiritual equivalent of a parent saying “my child doesn’t have [insert neurodivergency here] they’re just gifted” it’s used to deny ND people treatment and/or diagnosis also it’s subtly implying that ND people (who are the common targets of the term starseed) aren’t human like basically saying “you’re neurdivergent so you must be an alien, you can’t possibly be human” other than that was a great compilation!

Thank you, finally someone talks about this. I'm not ND myself but when i came across starseed it was a blog that talked about medications 'hindering' their spiritual power and to 'dull' them in a sense. Which honestly made me sick to my stomach. And plus certain tarot card readers (there is a spacific one but i forgot her username.) She spoke about starseeds and how thet are really aliens and how medicine is fake, vaccines are bad and to be 'whole' and 'pure'. Like ughhh gave me chills and made my stomach turn that some 'experinced' spiritualist, or even some witches, actually believe these things. It's sad. Edit: the tarot reader on here is called Conciousness evolution journey, she is the one that perpetuates it as well and does starseed videos. No one questioned her in the comments either, just yeah.

Hi there, I identify as a starseed and I am also diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. As someone in both communities, I can say, yeah, you're pretty right about that, however, there are a few pieces I wish to clarify if you don't mind. These are just my opinions and how I interpret being both neurodivergent and a starseed. The anti-vax and anti-medicine in both the starseed and new age community is horrible. Medication in no way affects you spiritually. As someone who is on medication and has flourished because of it, I can say that I absolutely agree with you on that point. While there is always something to be said about proven natural cures vs big pharma, always go to a doctor or another professional for medical treatment first. Secondly, yeah traits of ND people and starseeds do line up a lot. However, I feel like that is for a reason. ND people think so much more differently than neurotypical people do. We bring in so many new, inventive, creative ideas to the world that can help humanity become better as a species. Some wish to interpret their neurodivergence through the lens of starseeds: I have these gifts because I am here to help humanity. With the stigmatization of neurodivergent diagnosis, it might bring more confidence to an individual to "give" themselves a "higher purpose" as a starseed vs taking a diagnosis. While I fully accept my ASD and ADHD diagnosis and take medication for it, I feel it might overlap with being starseed, but being starseed isn't the reason I am neurodivergent. It might be a reason for some of my traits, but there is a genetic history of ASD and ADHD throughout my family. Is most of my family starseed? Maybe, but because most of my family is also dead and were Christian I couldn't say lol Also, being a starseed is more than just believing you're an alien. It is a complete spiritual practice in of itself. It is working with spirits, chakras, past life regression. It isn't just I relate to these traits so I'm a starseed, it's "I feel deep in my soul I am from the stars and I have a higher purpose here on earth, a mission to fulfill." Calling a kid starseed instead of getting them medical or professional treatment is horrible and I do not condone it whatsoever, however, if someone finds the label and resonates with it, they should be allowed to identify as it as long as they are also educated on the possible psychological implications of that identification if that makes sense.

I have full out conversations with my own self. And no I dont have any mental disorders or shit like that. It's just that its what I do to help keep myself in check and busy. I talk with myself a lot. I would do this for an hour or longer. But I do this to connect with my own self. My people skills suck so I conversant with myself to help with how I am. Some say I need help but I'm already helping myself. I ask my own self questions and I think of a response or solution to help. It's how I still have amazing mental strength. I'm like a 100 ft wall you can't climb or break through unless I let you in. But it's gonna be a lot of work. Im not easy to work with, and it frustrates a lot of people. But thats just who I am, either you deal with it or leave me alone
