The funny part of the “bringing back our mom” part is that you have a blueprint for that story in Fullmetal Alchemist. It works in that story because the boys lose so much when they try to bring back their mother and they fail on top of it all. It sets up the entire series, establishes the boys background, and establishes their capabilities and flaws. In the Witcher BO they just say they brought back a monster without any other negative consequence. They are just upset it didn’t work.

I remembered FMA the second they mentioned this. Here's the problem with most movies/games/series now. There's no stakes. No consequences. The results of trying to bring their mum back were catastrophic and pretty much the entire story was about reversing the effects (as well as learning from this and "atoning" in a way). Whereas here, literally nothing happens lol

Of course, producers would not let a false note to be in the show, but Eile missed a note on purpose, to show that a strong woman doesn't care of a single note, because the "message" is more important. I was simply amazed by how many people considered she has a nice voice, some of them felt chills on their spines... I assume they had no musical education. Her voice it sounds for me like a school girl in the choir who learn well the song and she shows that she can sing it without mistake. She had no finesse or feeling.

Edit: Wait, 70,000 gold?! If the coins weigh as much as a Roman aureus, that could be as much as 1,234 pounds if each coin weighs 8 grams. Even if it's less than that, you're still moving 70,000 coins, which is not going to be easy without assistance, which means there is no way she could have snuck all that money to the sell swords without getting caught. What seems even more funny is that they take this character and made her a warrior that is supposed to be dangerous. Less strengh, reach compared to basically everyone she meets. Makes perfect sense. Real dwarves in this universe actually could be strong, if you look at their muscle mass, even if they also have less reach compared to others. You have to give the old Willow credit for making a similar character a mage, something where the character actually can be competent and dangerous simply because the physical downsides don't really matter that much.

Alot of modern movies already have the issue to show people beating others easily that they wouldn't be able to beat. I think that can actually be dangerous if some people then get the idea that they can do it, just because they've seen it happen so often. If you try to take on someone that is stronger with more reach and you don't have any other upside? You will lose, even if the other person isn't specifically trained or anything.

It's been a fantastic week to restore my belief in humanity and that people know what good writing is. I might edit this comment with things I despise as I watch along but I'll just add as a final note thanks for all the quality content Disparu. The shows might lack it but you don't. Well first edit didn't take long - Yes I agree writers have somehow got in their heads that medieval culture could spread whispers like they have access to the internet. NO! STOP IT! Look whispers and rumours would literally stay within it's local area for generations. Hell even today most people don't know the first clue about other cultures or stories in a local area. I don't know what's happening in some village in say Japan or China. You think a dwarf in a cave is going to hear about a failed bank robbery? Why would the soldiers be boasting or even mentioning it seeing as how it was a failed operation. Why would the bank owner or villagers talk about it. Some criminals (to them) just tried to steal all their banks money. Not even a merchant or traveller would be going there. It's a village with 6 buildings and a bank. OH yes they must attract a lot of people with that.

If they were taking notes from that book, there's no way that backstory could be as shallow as it is. this feels more like they had a _similar_ idea, but (unlike FMA) never even thought about how such an idea could be made legitimately worthwhile. And if they _are_ riffing off that, how is it even possible that they could fail this hard at making such a free template? though i'm probably giving the writers too much credit, considering how badly they've already made this crap show.

The bit where the Dwarf fights is epic(ly bad) if you pause and go scene by scene. The first one on the left starts falling almost the second before receiving the hit, the one in the middle was in perfect position for a quick stab but just backs out for the far left guy to swing super wildly and then middle guy comes back with a MASSIVE overhead swing for no reason at all and the first guy that got hit on the knee is still out for the count even though he would probably be just limping a bit. EVEN if his leg got broken he could still get a hit in or something, but he looks likes he got then gamelike stun status after receiving a hit on the knee.

My first thought was where did the dwarf get a shirt (with hidden buttons) with a flower pattern made? But then I wondered when did she get changed as soon as they entered the cave? Why are all the warriors in the group wearing no armour but ankle length thin clothing. If you have long billowing clothing or long hair then you've already lost any fight you enter. Why do guards have scarves down to their waists? How are they metallic gold colour? While does half the group only say their lines instead of delivering them.

I used to Larp and this storyline reminds me of those days. Occasionally someone new would design a plot and we'd play it out, knowing full well it made no sense. Now I know how I looked. Happy days.

Surely Michelle Yeoh went to arrange things with Dylan Moran first, yeah?.She wouldn't have been able to do it while traveling with the city guards and it would explain why she took so long to get to the city. How on earth was she able to make that arrangement without the money to begin with, find the ambush location, plan out said ambush with Dylan and ensure that Dylan and his sellswords didn't simply betray them and claim that bounty themselves? I don't know if Michelle was paying them more or less than the bounty, but, even if it was a huge deal more than the bounty, surely it makes more sense to betray them for the bounty than go to war against a huge empire with a ridiculously powerful monster.

Well... the one good thing about Blood Origin is that I miss the 'original' Witcher Series. You know... the one with the Witcher and the Sorceresses being... well... a bit narcissistic, sure but at least they dont act like complete lunatics (at least most of them). And when they were discussing 'when we merge with this monster it has to be a warrior, not a mage' I somehow wondered if they had watched The Witcher Season 1. The Battle of Sodden where Yennefer destroys like half an army of warriors with her fire magic?

0:56 well, ackshually, Stargate established pretty early on IIRC that you couldn't cut things in half with a wormhole - it required a "complete" object to pass through event horizon before beginning transportation. That being said, i wish shows like this or Willow learned from Stargate in terms of character writing, especially team dynamic writing, as SG-1 was absolutely a show carried by its characters.

In episode two or three, they cut off a bit of Kowalski's head to kill the goa'uld. The transport wouldn't happen until the whole object crossed the event horizon, but you could cut things with it if they were partly in when you shut it down.
