yay! Keep in mind I modified this dance for my line dance group for a charity pub crawl. At the end, we dance around in a big circle instead of doing the last few dance steps. Have fun!

It's wonderful you want to go to Germany! It's a Truly Beautiful Country! Just a reminder...Germany is Not all Bier, Bratwurst, Women in Dirndls or Men in Lederhosen! That's the "Walt Disney World" of München (Munich).. all of Deutschland is nothing like Oktoberfest in München, Germany!... Also, for U.S. Citizen's who have never traveled to Deutschland..each State/Region has a Different Dialect, Food and Custom's. Germany is VERY PROTECTIVE of their Landmark's such as Castle's, Church's and Home's... And rather than obliterate/ teardown these Wonderful Architecture's.. whether Charlemagne or Adolf Hitler and the Reich or the Cold War Communistic Regime took over Castle's, Home's, Museum's, Kinder through University Schulen... (School's)... Germany and other European countries place Heritage And History before a Person's personal opinion that "they are "offended"..by such and such.

Yes..this is one song for Walpurgisnacht ! Peter Fox does this funky version. But, Faun does a more accurate meaning of what Walpurgisnacht is about. The choreographer holds her broom wrong and she misses a step...also you are suppose to hold your broom in the air and shake it also. PS... Walpurgisnacht is a Christian Holiday...the Hexen (Witches) make sure the Evil Demon's do not pass through the Vail (thin wall) between Good and Evil during Walpurgisnacht.

Yes there is an English translation... however, when translated...the rhyming is does not come out the same and part's of the lyrics do not flow with the German music. Hi Heather, A valid question! When I made this video for my group of line dancers, I modified some of the patterns to simplify and accommodate the area we would be dancing it in. We were not in the street or open spaces but in some cases very small Bars (Charity Pub Crawl) I didn't include the last few measures of the original dance because we used that time to dance around a cauldron and exit while collecting funds :-)

T J Smith ~ The German title is "Schuttel deinen Speck", basically meaning, "Shake Your Bacon"'. It was written by Peter Fox, basically a song about male appreciation of full-figured women. Thing is, everyone, witch or not, full-figured or not, can enjoy this song and dance. Some men have even dressed up as witches to enjoy the dance alongside the women. It's meant to be fun and to make people smile and feel good.

The Wolfshager Hexenbrut group are the queens! A friend sent me a video a couple years ago of them dancing. I thought it would be fun to dance for Halloween last year. I couldn't find a tutorial at the time so I made my own with "some modifications" for my line dance class :-) Such fun!

The song translates as "Shake Your Bacon" . I am sure much is lost in the various English translations. Walpurgis is among other things, a time of fertility celebrations, so the "hot butt cheeks" and "your toaster goes up and down" might not be that incongruous. I love the song and I love those ladies. It has a kick ass psuedo-Middle Eastern vibe but it is not, strictly speaking, a song about The Craft.
