I love your videos. My only nitpick is Gardner really didn't draw much of anything from the OTO. Crowley and Gardner really only knew each other for a year and only met four times or so. When Crowley died, Gardner wrote his estate asking for a copy of the rituals. The point is - Gardner didn't have a copy of the ritual which is why he had to ask for them. :)

I don't believe he drew anything from the OTO either. I think the OTO and Gardner both pulled ritual practice from Key of Solomon, Golden Dawn etc I am an Initiate of both practices. There are some, not too much, similarities but again I don't think Gardner pulled anything from the OTO.

How is "witchcraft" a religion? 🤔 Which witchcraft? Which religion? Many religions or religious people practice Witchcraft. Some religions have Witchcraft as a foundation, such as Wicca. Witchcraft is more of a process, a practice, a doing. Or at least, it used to be. 🤨 It can be practiced with or without religion.

I do find Wicca a good starting base for those who are looking. However as a witch I and others like me don't like being called wiccan, as inherited traditional witchcraft isn't always based on Wiccan beliefs.

Just out of curiosity, what is the problem with Wicca?? I always hear it's because everyone thinks it is a good tushu's white lighter practice and that is absolutely subjective. BTW, agree with you on the beliefs part. Usually the ritual standards are always the same though. Along with the practical. The only thing that differs is Wicca and British Traditional Witchcraft are religious as well.

Wicca is a religiomagick, Witchcraft can be considered a practice, British Traditional Witchcraft is a religiomagick. Witchcraft is a European term that defines people who practiced Magick. Whether it was actually a Religion is up for debate.

I believe witchcraft shows us how to use all that is around us. This is why contemporary religions don't like witches; we figured it out and quickly realized we don't need them telling us if, when, or how this understanding should be used. I believe it is not a religion, it is a craft, as in the name witchcraft. A skill with nothing supernatural about it. I will turn to other witches for advice, but I do not believe any hierarchy or initiation exists. That seems more like a human construct to me, a club if you will. And as a witch, I'm not keen on clubs, what with their in-group and out-group thinking and rules limiting me. Come one, come all I say, get advice but follow none. Tread your own path. Just my opinion.
