So, I just heard this song on a tiktok and had to download it. I am a huge Beatles fan, and have been since I was a teenager when my grams introduced me to them. We almost lost her in February due to the flu and an “unknown respiratory failure” which looking back now we are all sure was COVID. She is in the nursing home now, and will probably be there for the foreseeable future. I have always been extremely close to her, as she was a solace to me during a turbulent childhood. Because of COVID, this will be my first Christmas in the 25 years since I was born, that I won’t be with her on Christmas. Last year, I ended up being my grandfathers caregiver when his dementia progressed too far for my other grandmother to care for him alone. He couldn’t remember who I was most of the time, and his moods were often dark as he progressed. But every morning as I made his breakfast for him, I would play the Beatles and he could still remember lyrics to certain songs. He would sit at the kitchen table and sing along as he drank his coffee while I cooked. We lost him in April of this year. So when I say the Beatles hold a special place in my heart, it is not an exaggeration. I cannot stop crying while listening to this song. Thank you, so much for putting this out for the world. It is honestly my favorite Beatles cover I have ever heard. And after the year I have had, I needed this more than even knew. 💜
