This Legit happens to me: I play a combo or 'fun' deck that is bad against aggro and 80% of the games is the mono red deck. I get salty switch to a anti aggro deck and literally 80% of my games are against control or combo decks. Its absolutely maddening.

Mono Red players don't actually have problem solving skills. That's why "math is for blockers." They can only zug and when they cannot zug their brains 404 error all over the place.

People play mono-red because they want a simple play that results in a short game, which doesn't have time for a lot of edge cases they would have to think over. In short, it is the color choice of people who are afraid of thinking. Throw them into a slow or unfamiliar game-state and they will immediately start to panic.

A huge thank you, CGB. My own slight variation on this deck (4 legions to ashes in exchange for a few Sawblades and witches) hard-carried me to mythic from diamond 4 with nearly an 80% win-rate.

What tokens or noncreature targets are you hitting with Legions to Ashes that made it feel worthwhile for you to go up to a 3 mana removal spell? I was looking through comments on the vid to try and find the latest technology. I've been running Nowhere to Hide and a one-of Surgical Suite that's been playing nicely. Trying to see if there are other cards I've missed. Are you still playing this deck post-Duskmourne? The new matchup that is the toughest to win is Abhorrent Oculus reanimator. Even though it's a sorcery, the exile on Legions to Ashes could help. Anoint with Affliction (Not on My Watch & Parting Gust less so), Ghost Vacuum, Kutzil's Flanker, and Lord Skitter are the others I've considered to improve that matchup. Rest in Peace hoses us too hard to consider.

Been waiting for this video. I've been crushing the high Bo3 mythic ladder with this deck(but with Rottenmouth Viper). And it absolutely destroys aggro. Knew it was only a matter of time, it's a free matchup. And the deck is legit very fun with a lot of lines and decision points. And it potentially gets better with a flash -3/-3 enchantment in the next set that turns off ward and hexproof. But also, I regularly have the same issue as that last game for whatever reason. See 12 cards over the course of a game and 10 of them are lands. The deck sees so many cards with extra draws and scrys, but I seem to get flooded so much more than usual.

This deck made me feel like an absolute villain. Three pixies and two hopeless nighmares against a mull-to-five that wasn't mono-red, they removed one creature and then scooped to not wanting to be hellbent for the rest of the game... But then mono-red scooped to a single sawblade and balance was restored to the world!

i have a similar deck for fnms, i call it tithing braids :p, I think the list here works great to farm aggro, but in bo3 against a local meta with more midrange and control, ive been liking sideboard hate/stax pieces as well as lively dirge and case of the stashed skeleton to get those hate pieces/the braids and zoraline consistently

I mean, Re getting to mythic by countering red, I barely see red. Currently plat2, Finished 98% mythic last rotation. Climbed last season with a deck that won against everything BUT red, currently playing a greedy golgari reanimator list. Maybe the decklists confused the algo or something because I'm not net decking, but my REAL theory is that I play traditional and red is really bad outside of Bo1.

I get that on quick play they pair similar power level decks, but on ranked should be random opponents and the one with the better deck and strategy wins.

I swear the shuffler and the match maker both cheat. Every time I go on ladder with a red spank deck I never see red but run into God awful number of control decks which the decks tend to be weak against. Then I switch over to something more midrange and fun and I run into almost nothing but stupid 3rd turn red decks.
