The riff at 0:35 seems very much inspired by the song 'ambivalent' by nevermore but has very different note choices and the nevermore riff is very much chromatic this sounds more classically inspired but i love both

Staring into darkness We try and make our way Lost inside this paradox Of solitude and shame We're all falling Towards the same uncertain end Destined to be nothing but kings On a tumbling hill of sand The line is breaking and time has passed us by So let's all bow our heads In a moment of silence This is the hour, dark empty sober eyes Will watch us fall from grace In a moment of silence Enslaved, we move around this room As if we have a choice As if a door will suddenly appear To take us through these walls Into another life Only to find the truth is what you fear We're all falling Towards the same uncertain end Destined to be nothing but kings On a tumbling hill of sand The line is breaking and time has passed us by So let's all bow our heads In a moment of silence This is the hour dark empty sober eyes Will watch us fall from grace In a moment of silence Fall into the emptiness We all are consigned to the shadows Fall into the emptiness We are, we are destined Destined for nothing For nothing! The line is breaking and time has passed us by So let's all bow our heads in a moment The line is breaking and time has passed us by So let's all bow our heads in a moment In a moment of silence This is the hour dark empty sober eyes Will watch us fall from grace in a moment In a moment of silence

It does remind me of King Diamomd, which is awesome. I loved this bands last album and the direction they're taking is super cool.

It's the Jeff Loomis sound. The vocals and themes have that storytelling/narrating element of King Diamond, and the solos actually sound like a mix between Loomis and LaRocque.

I think I just went to heaven by discovering this band. Yes, everyone....Nevermore, Sanctuary, Opeth….whatever you say...This is pure HEAVEN for real metal. I am 55 and so in love with EVERY song on BOTH releases. Thank you Google play for giving me my "New Release Friday" last week when this came out. WHOA!! Incredible. And to backtrack on the first release....holy shit. Portrait is one of the best cinematographic vids ever....and fuck me, the playthru on What We Are Dying For.....one word...JAKE! Thx...Can't wait to drive from PHX to LA to witness this shit with Septicflesh in January!!!!

Yeah, since Nevermore had not released a great album since TGE, and even the Sanctuary release was simply "pretty good", when I found this band in 2017, they blew my mind. Since Nevermore is no longer around, and Warrel is gone, this is a very close (if not possibly equal in the future) second best for me, and easily my favorite new band in years. Incidentally, the vocalist is going to take over Warrel's duties on the next Sanctuary album too now.

@Neonmirrorblack7 ай бұрын
@@unclepizza72 I can't parse whatever it is you're trying to say. Dead Heart was released before TGE. So why are you mentioning it as though I was discounting it? The Obsidian Conspiracy is an extremely weak album overall and has like two or three standout songs. It's a huge step down from both TGE and DHIADW.

That which is hot rises, that which is cold falls. Trees spend their life growing upward toward the heat, the sun. Your pointing upside down. Not a good path my enemy. Do you even know what Satan means? Brilliance is intelligence, as intelligence is a result of conciousness. You are not too brilliant when you point upside down. Where are the pyramids pointed? I hope you figure it out, what I am asking you to see.
