The way I understand it, the song is written in the point of view of the mother who is being called “frozen” or “cold” for her actions despite her good intentions of saving her daughter. She is trying to explain that the daughter or even the public will not fully understand her choices as it’s based in the strict Victorian time period. This is pointed out in the video where she writes to her daughter asking for forgiveness and explaining herself before she is carried off to presumably be executed. She is heartbroken for taking the sacrifice for her daughters future, but she knew it was her only choice to save her from the abuse. It’s a sad story of sacrifice for a child, misunderstanding and abuse to those vulnerable especially children. It’s such a powerful song which had a very important message to tell

The video reminds me a bit of the “the thunder rolls” by Garth brooks. The husband knocks his wife around after she finds out he is cheating and then the daughter appears. Dad starts to go after her then mom shoots him and that’s how the video ends

Remember hearing the song and not understanding of it. I am 35 years old now and understand it with different circumstances in my personal life and what I've been through in different relationships. I can totally understand her feeling and perspective. It is heartbreaking the song does definitely tear me up a bit.

The fact that i was listening and venting to these type of songs before i was fully aware of the true extent of the situation i was in, makes them hit even harder now. Realizing just how much i relate to a song that i already loved for its capability of resonate with my unwellness and discomfort makes me wanna shake people by their shoulder, give them a warning to always trust their gut cause deep down you have the capability to know if you're in a toxic enviroment or not, you just have to stay in tune with and check on yourself like you would for a friend of a loved one. Take care and don't worry if you feel Frozen, stuck in place incapable of moving out of forward: you'll find a way out of the gutter eventually. Just don't give up please

You speak truth. The issue is that the abuse gets "normalized" to the point when you don't even consider it "abuse" just something regular... even though it's killing your soul, messing up your mental health and tearing your heart apart. When the offender does not want to acknowledge his transgressions that is when you need to pack your bags and go.

Мало кто это написал. Но надо уметь играть злодеев. Актëр потрясающий. Все в роли вжились. История очень трогична. Даже не верится что такую тему подняли. Вокал и инструментал самый лучший. Я хочу больше. Хочу полную историю этого сюжета и историю с хорошим концом, про волшебное исцеление, оправдание поступка матери и их с дочкой переезд в другое хорошее место, где они смогут каким то образом исцелить друг друга и быть семьëй.
