It has politically incorrect lyrics ...a man killing a woman he loves. The music industry and man-hating feminist groups more than likely made threats against the band to ban them from radio stations if they put this song out there front and center. Part of what makes this song a cult classic. Meaning only die hard fans of this band will know about this great gem of a song. Cheers!!

”Long” story short (meaning I read about it years ago and cant remember the details 😂): Sharon is a big fan of shows like Midsumer Murders so she made up her own story for the song about a guy who liked a girl, she laughed when he confessed his love so he killed her and buried her at sea. Police found her body but couldnt indentify her, hence ”Jane Doe”. Throughout the song the guy cant forget about her or what he did to her.
