Enter es el primer álbum de estudio de la banda de metal sinfónico holandesa Within Temptation grabado en 1996.1 El año anterior habían editado una demo en casete con el mismo título y 4 de las canciones que contendría Enter, pero interpretadas de diferente forma. Con este cd empezaron su ahora larga carrera musical. Este CD sólo tuvo éxito en Holanda y tiene como importancia que fue su comienzo y el tipo de música que utilizaron para su segundo álbum "Mother Earth", aunque de menor potencia. Este CD sólo contiene ocho canciones (aunque de larga duración) a diferencia de los demás, que contienen once, sin contar los bonus tracks de las ediciones premium y limitadas.

I often wonder: Why did they change so much. .. And unfortunately they have changed for the worse .... @Flavio Antonio. I don’t think they are ashamed of this sound at all. What happened was Sharon and the band felt like they had done all they could with their original sound. Now Linkin Park on the other hand is a good example of a band that was ashamed of their original sound.

It turns out that this change drove away many of the old fans who liked the band ... You can see by the band Epica, they continue with the same sound, without any change, and they’re still great, pleasing old fans, and winning new ones too, and they’ve never stopped being great… changes that shouldn’t necessarily exist ... Understand?

@@LordArquimes were Within Temptation Gothic Metal though?, I mean they have Gothic tendencies but they are more known as a Symphonic Metal band. To me Gothic Metal is Theatre Of Tragedy, Tristania, and Katatonia. Within Temptation are a bit less Gothic than those bands and belong more so with bands like Epica and Delian. I mean Within Temptation had elements of Folk, Classical, and a slight Gothic tendency. Within Temptations peak was Mother Earth, The Silent Force, and The Heart Of Everything. Tbh I don’t know too much about Enter.

@@nu-metalfan2654 As much as many do not accept, or do not see it that way, the Enter album does represent a great meaning for Gothic Metal, because it is an album totally within the context, and the elements, the atmosphere ... I did not say that they were gothic, because I know they are Metal Symphonic, but they were one of the great influencers for the style, and this album brings a lot of that, that over the years, they moved away from what was Enter, which I say is the album that I like them more, in fact all the bands that you mentioned, are literally Gothic Metal, there was also The Sins of Thy Beloved, among others, but anyway, that's it.
