I absolutely love how you fixed the beak! I needed a way to fix a 2005 beak because I ordered one second hand and her beak is peeling. This is quite helpful!

One time I got a Furby baby in the mail and when I put fresh batteries in it, it made a really loud mechanical sound! That really sound makes that noise whenever he moves his ears and his mouth. My mom had to remove his entire fur to fix his gears. She sprayed some oil on the gears to lubricate them and make them softer again. I also got a 2005 Furby. She had tester batteries in her when she got out of the box. They no longer worked and were very old. They're all called alkaline and one was so old that it leaked battery acid in her which made her no longer working. My mom cleaned her battery compartment and installed new ones in her and she's working again.

Advice: I have a friend who works with alot of faux fur, shes a fursuit maker, and she says never to hang up the fur to dry because it will stretch the fabric and it will be too big. Instead lay it down on a towel and flip it over on the other side when its dry on that side.

In my opinion 2005 Furbies would be the coolest ones if it weren't for two big issues. The feet is one that can be easily fixed with shoes but.... why is the beak fleshy. why. more importantly WHY DID THEY GIVE IT THE ABILITY TO SMILE AND FROWN THAT'S TOO FAR! great job restoring him tho

HI there.... I have this same furby in blue and purple. I can't get him to dance. His feet seemed to be stuck but I got them loose but he still won't animate to dance. The same problem with his mouth. The senors work to feed him. But his mouth won't move to talk. Any advice?

Just keep manually moving the parts gently while the furby is trying to work. Hopefully it will loosen up enough eventually.

theres a few things you can try if you still have her! you can flip her upside down, press her tongue, and stick a tooth pick or something similar into the reset button on her bottom. this will reset her so she will mostly speak furbish again. you can also try pulling the top of her beak down and moving the gears insife with a screwdriver :) I know its been 2 years but i hope it helps if you still have her!

Was the fur hard to put back on? I have a second hand 2005 and she smells kinda mildewy, and i wanna skin her, but im scared im gonna ruin her. Any tips on skinning/putting back together a 2005?

i just skinned mine, make sure you have tiny screwdrivers and don't be afraid to cut the thread attaching the fur ears/tuft to the plastic as you can just sew it back on. I washed the fur with laundry soap by hand and it looks a thousands times better now.

There is something you could do that makes the process of fixing the beak easier. Just undo the two screws on the beak and lift it off. But here is one thing, THE EYES ARENT OPERATED BY ITS OWN MOTOR!! Yes, I am right. All facial expressions (including the ears and belly movement) are operated by ONE SINGLE MOTOR! The beak and the legs are operated by it's own motor though. (I am sorry that I sound rude. Sometimes I kinda exaggerate my yelling a bit.) You did free up the gears that made the eyes stuck though! But oh well. Also, please take apart koby for us! I wanna see its GUTS!
