Without a Paddle is a canoe film about snowboarding, that blends a 140km winter paddle from the foot of the Mica Dam to the top of the Revelstoke Dam with the history of the upper Columbia River.
Four intrepid snowboarders seek to retrace a portion of David Thompson's footsteps down the Columbia River, in the middle of January, during one of the coldest snaps in recorded history in Revelstoke.
Surreal frozen landscapes, epic paddling, deep powder riding and a lot of pain.

"you're talking to an apparition here" - that was a powerful line. Thanks for including the story of the Sinixt in this, learned a lot.

This movie has everything: winter camping, canoeing, mega shredding, sweet music, unbelievable cinematography, male nudity, Sinixt woman laying down serious wisdom, museum lady with big knowledge, sausages grilling, canoes, campfires, ice, snow-I love it. Love it! Good job, lads.

Yooooo boys. Thank you so much for acknowledging the land we are on. And then some. Marilyn James?! YES. This is the first snowboard (/canoe i guess?) video I've seen with an indigenous elder, plus going above and beyond to explain who's land this is and the history of it, which has been buried by the government for decades. You guys shoulda stopped by the blockade at 120km north of town, you were probably so close! If anyone is looking for more info on the Sinixt, please look up the book "Swift River" by Laura Stovel. Again, thanks so much! This was a treat!

I really enjoyed this but had a real sense of watching people bite off more than they could chew. Eg "We had all the radios in one canoe". In the middle of nowhere in fog and snow?! Glad you all made it back!

Amazing documentary. Expressing the freedom of having fun and exploring. Love to hear such beautiful truth spoken on behalf of the Sinixt people.
